Nice to see you have an outdoor garden too. We have hot summers here but I've been able grow them right in the heat without bolting because they got afternoon shade and kratky style hydroponics! You gotta try it out!

Last year I grew some broccoli from start to finish indoors and I was shocked at how big they got! And I'm sure I don't need to tell you the flavor of 3 min old broccoli right out of your basement put all other broccoli to shame. Very interesting that micos are not needed, wish I knew that before I inoculated them every few weeks... Oh and hilarious when your neighbor calls the police on you for an indoor grow and when they came to investigate my basement (in Colorado of all places) the police got a good laugh some tomatoes, snap peas and a few carrots.

@Just4Growers7 жыл бұрын
+Jan King No spray - they all went for one plant. Found about thirty on it when I came back from holiday (took a photo on my Instagram) picked them off and all was good. Even the targeted plant recovered and produced.

I eat broccoli all the time ... but this seems like i have to have many different supplies and be an organic chemist to grow good broccoli??
@Just4Growers8 жыл бұрын
I'm just starting out with my outdoor garden so getting ahead of the curve by bringing in some rich organic potting mixes. There's nothing to stop you building up a rich organic soil using compost and manure. Some folks mistake "organic" gardening for sitting back, relaxing and letting the "soil" do all the work-in reality we have to feed the soil regularly with organic inputs in order to support his heavy feeder. Compost tea is also great for helping cycle those nutrients locked up in the soil and I highly recommend it. I hope I didn't make it seem more complicated than it is! :)

+Bill B As would some common courtesy. Compost + VermiVeg + compost tea when I planted into beds. Compost + VermiBloom + compost tea at transition. And Compost + PK Boost + Compost tea in mid flower. In all cases I used VermiTea as my Compost tea, primarily inoculated with worm castings. For more details on application follow the instructions on the packet and / or watch my video all about top dressing.
