It turned out not to bad. I see you took my advise about moving the seams out to the sharpest part of the bend on the sides. That made all the difference in getting it to work, that and adding the pieces to the front and sides helped alot also. Congrats on a job well done.

Just a thought, could it be that when you fit one piece by putting tension into to it and taping it down, and then the next piece has more or less tension that when it's released and you sew to your marks you are sewing in the different tensions causing one or the other to wrinkle!

Nothing is ever perfect. I started in car upholstery just like you and 34 years later I made a whole career out of it. All in my home and garage. You could have asked an upholsterer or tailor for advice on how to build a rigid fabric on curved surfaces. I also think that the use of a heat gun could have been used on a vinyl canvas. That said, congratulations it's one more victory.

The top looks very good. Your perseverance and problem solving skills are off the charts. The sun works wonders on vinyl I used to set school bus seat covers out in the Sun, before pulling them on. It made quite a difference. Good work
