You play 60 games a season for your club, so the club should be valued higher than what you do in a few games on the national team where its mostly about where you are born. @@unkown5528 maybe, but you also need to consider how Southgate has consistently focused on playing/including players who are 100% committed to England. It’s a major reason my the likes of Rashford and Sancho were left out for Bowen and Eze. As much as Southgate gets stick for his old defensive tactics (which he has moved away from). He has always made sure players who improve the moral and give 100% are given opportunities and those who are don’t don’t go near the side. It’s why England have had relative success under him. England have not been dominated in a major tournament game since 2018 against Belgium. Even the two loses against France and Italy came down to clinical finishing (alongside a bit of luck) and pens. Most players in this England squad want to be there and want to fight to start.

The thing that we struggle with most is that international football is fought on a technical level and that suits teams like spain, france and portugal much more than us . We struggle to use physicality and intensity, which makes the premier league so great. We are starting to change as a nation though with technical players like Phil Foden, Bellingham, Cole Palmer

Its not about gloating or boasting, its about hope after years of dissapointment, since it was at home and did come home in 1966, contrary to what you said. And the way italian players were singing its coming rome afterwards, was seen as a mockery. You say you enjoyed seeing the english crying after that game because of the song you misunderstood, but that doesnt compare to the hilarity and joy everyone felt when italy lost to north macedonia at home, to a shot outside the box, at the end of the game, to stop italy qualifying for the next tournament.
