imagine going to that arcade place to gamble your life away in searech of the jacpot, the grand prize, the only thing that can give you a momentary fullfillment in this dreadful life and justify your years long addiction. You don't give up hope, you just pull the lever every single day until your life savings go dry. You are on your last day. Now or Never. You lost everything: your family, your wife, your children, your friends, your sanity. You insert your last coin and pull the lever for one last time. "WE WON, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!!!???" You hear from two machines over. It's some foreigner who walked in for the first time and won the grand prize. You look at your machine. "Good luck next time! :P" "...next time... huh...."

Alright for all you people saying about how gambling is illegal in japan and everything like that, you are correct but you are also wrong. This game he is playing is called Pachinko, and it is the 1 arcade game that gives a little leeway in Japanese law against gambling because of its ancient roots in Japanese culture. They could not have traded those coins directly into cash, but depending on where they played it at the arcade or parlor might have special pachinko prizes such as actual gold coins that can be traded in for cash at local stores. I also have heard of them allowing you to trade your tokens in for a QR code slip for bitcoin in certain parlors. Also to everyone saying they only won $50, almost all games in japan's aracdes cost a minimum of 100 yen to play, with each token being worth 25 yen some parlors have this set different but this is the standard. So they won closer to $1300. I hate reading comments from people who just either read 1 thing on google, or go off someone else saying something and completely believe it. I have played Pachinko machines and have known people who have won actual money off of them, and i still have alot of friends in japan and am very familiar with the game and the laws against it.
@arnoldsenokopenko60939 жыл бұрын
Karol Franzyshen Thanks for clearing that up!
@TokyoXtreme9 жыл бұрын
Karol Franzyshen The game shown in the video is not pachinko, rather an arcade token game (as is mentioned in the description). The tokens have no cash value, and cannot be redeemed for prizes- the only benefit is that you are able to play the game for longer. At the end, the players get their tokens counted and the total is place onto a card that allows them to deduct tokens at a later date (as it would be impractical to take those tokens home).
@jj.martin9 жыл бұрын
Karol Franzyshen Despite your comment seems really legit, you provide as much source as a dumb thing read off google. Hence, you offer no validation and this might aswell could've been cooked up by you.

I've lived in Japan for over 13 years, and know well the difference between a game arcade (all-ages) and a pachinko parlor (18+ only). Even the video description mentions that the action takes place within an arcade, and gambling the likes of pachinko or horse racing is controlled strictly by the government. Specifically, the game depicted in the video is a "medal game", which is described in-depth on the Wikipedia article for "medal game" (guess I can't link a URL here).

See this recommended to me after 9 years... this never gets old! (I'm want to go to Japan, and this is why.) And for those of you who didn't know, many Konami medal games (and Fortune Trinity 2, the one shown in this video, is no exception) contained a hidden credits from the developers that could only appears if you win a Jackpot with the number of medals exceeded a certain amount (to get the credits in Fortune Trinity 2, you need to get any Jackpots with 3500 medals or more, which he succeeded), or win the highest Jackpot tier in the game (Spin Fever 3 has a "Golden" Jackpot tier, which is a sum of both "Red" and "Blue" Jackpots, and getting this Jackpot will triggers the credits).

what did you get for all these coins? how much yen is it worth?
@SEPPanda10 жыл бұрын
I am thinking 100 yen coins. so about $4500 probably a little more actually. Not coins themselves but i would guess worth a dollar a piece so 100 yen. And if i am wrong well then fuck me.

Nothing, I won it myself today here in Adore arcade, Shibuya, Tokyo. You win those tokens that you can only use in floor 4 and 5. You can exchange them for prizes or money. Just usable for more slots and coin pushers. Must say I was a bit disappointed after filling all those cups with coins :(

As an avid connoisseur of Japanese culture, I feel comfortable in telling you that every person in there hated you. It's like walking into their house and slapping them in the face. If I was there (and I soon will be, after my parents buy my plane ticket), I would have given you a piece of my mind.

Technically, you can only exchange them for prizes, because gambling is illegal in Japan. However, a conveniently placed shop nearby will usually buy your prizes off of you.

iDont LaikYou Someone wrote that the tokens were worth about 200,000 Dollars, I just corrected him, by writing that Yen isn't really worth all that much... I know that these were just tokens, and thus cannot be used as actual money. ForceOfWizardry The things you can get by using the tokens all depend on what the prizes are.

@qwertyuiopas399 жыл бұрын
666 has nothing to do with satan actually, you should read the bible and watch some vids about it, it's "The number of the beast" the beast they mean is actually emperor Nero
@theall-seeingrinnegan56839 жыл бұрын
+qweryuiopas39 It actually does have something to do with satan as the mark of the beast is a satanic symbol (possibly a computer chip) that is given (implanted) to those who accept it after the rapture (second coming of christ). Those who receive it basically just gave their soul to the devil. No hope for them after that
