the movie came out 14 years ago now which is insane. Interesting fact, in fall 2020 the first of kids born AFTER the release of HSM 1 will go to High School!!!! At least those born in 2006 (9th graders will be born from late 2005-mid 2006)

I love the hsm series they are so good even if its been 15 years ago. My aunt started watching these when she was a teen. We sat down together and watched all three movies.Ever since that moment it opened a new world for me. The funny thing is Zac Efron was a toilet commercial guy before he was Troy.Its crazy how much the cast has grown these past few years.

They didnt record them before he got signed, but because his voice wasnt done changing they decided to use drews voice instead (as he had been a part of the entire development of the movie) for some parts they blended zacs voice with drews, and if you listen closely you can hear where zac sings and where he doesnt. I believe he does the intro to 'breaking free'

I remember I was 4 or 5 when this came out and I remember singing around the kitchen with my sister who was 7 and my cousins that were 15 and 17. I remember mom yelling at me because I started singing and dancing to 'stick to the status quo' on top of the kitchen table😂. Wow. Time really does fly

They do it that way because its extremely hard to sing and dance at the same time, and one scene isnt shot just once, so it would be a big strain on their voices. It also gives a much better result when they lipsync. Its been done that way ever since the first Musical Movies were made.
