I just rewatched Beetlejuice, and DAMN, she’s even better today! Like, I still LOVE the OG Beetlejuice and it still holds up but her acting in Stranger Things is even better! Don’t get me wrong- it was very good in Beetlejuice and I worshipped her and the character of Lydia growing up- but her acting has matured and that’s not necessarily the case with every child actor. I look forward to seeing the new Beetlejuice and I bet it’s amazing! Wynonna elevates everything she’s in!

Haven't seen the movie yet, but was SO HOPING it would end with Lydia alone in her room with the back to the camera when you hear her faintly at first start...."Even though I should be wary, STILL I venture something SCARY..." then have the camera slow pan around her as she thunders out loud, "GHOSTLY HAUNTINGS I TURN LOOSE....BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE!!!!" then the familiar red spider-shawl drapes over her with a HUGE grin on her face with Michael Keaton's voice cackling in echoes offscreen.... and quickly fade to black. The theatre I believe would collectively loose their minds.

Besides, as opposed to BJ goading her into a pre-arranged marriage (And to play fair to Betelgeuse, back in his day, having a 15-year-old girl marry a much older man was seen as normal, as this was even the case in the U.S. right up until the 20th Century began) to save the exorcised Maitlands ala the first film (largely because the Maitlands aren't in the sequel, sans model figurines & Lydia's loophole explanation as to why they're no longer around), the adult Lydia actually offers the marital option to BJ herself, of her own volition, to save her daughter Astrid from fully crossing over to the other side (since the Neitherworld afterlife is an in-between space between the realm of the living & the final destinations spirits go to [The Pearly Gates of heaven, The Fires of Eternal Damnation aka Hell, The Great Beyond & The Elysian Fields as one of the last destinations of Greek mythology aside from The Underworld ruled by Hades]), with her even signing the contract in her own blood after pricking her finger. But, the contract itself is rendered null & void due to BJ breaking Neitherworld guidelines by bringing a living person (Lydia) to the Neitherworld before her time (Compare & contrast this to the 1989-1992 cartoon, where de-aged Lydia visits the Neitherworld frequently with BJ, with the fact that she's human in a world of supernatural entities only being the focal point of certain episodes, even if most of that show has BJ saving Lydia on the regular since she's mortal & he isn't due to being dead for 600+ years).
