I attempted to play what was on the sheet, and after about 5 hours of working on it, it came out VERY close (some slight stumbles, for which I apologize. I may try this one again, as I'm less happy with this than the other 4) The "what comes off off of my head" was a comment on the fact that, after playing for 35 years (and my teachers and father teaching me how to improvise tastefully) off the top of my head, it is HARD and frustrating to play off the page. As the biggest problem novice players have is turning the notes on the page into fluid sounds, I was thinking that giving an idea of how it sounds more fluid might be helpful. I shall try to get it closer to "nailed" for the next one. I apologize for any confusion

Even with a minor stumble, it helps to get a feel for the tune. I have the book but no record or CD or download. That steel has killer tone. Thanks Lane

Winnie approved of making the soundsheet (now mp3s) available as a download. His were done much better than mine, but the expectations and resources devoted were greater. Here's where to find the download file www.pitlenz.de/WinstonCD.zip

BTW, thank you. This Twin in the background is among my favorite amps ever.

"I play what comes out of my head". This is not helpful. People gravitate to this site because they want to hear what it sounds like as written in the tab yet is not included in the CD. A great idea. Then you play it slightly differently??? You must confuse so many people.

Please see my comment that I'd meant as a reply. I had not meant to deviate, and I don't think I DID play anything not on the page. I DID stumble a few times. Those who know me know I try to be helpful, but I only have a few hours per Monday, and not even every Monday. I shall try to get future ones closer to "nailed"
