@@alexcross7583 It was made obvious that Winston wasn't trying to kill John. He was pretending to kill him so that the High Table would would leave the Continental and John would be thought dead and be left alone. John Wick 4 reveals the High table don't buy it and punish Winston for it.

@Mish375S that makes no sense how would the high table think John was dead if his body was gone. Also Winston is punished by the high table not because he helped john fake his death, but because he helped John in the pervious movies.

They can be modified and configured to allow an internet connection, but it is a waste of time given today's technology.

Rest in peace to the other gentleman, I don't know his name, but he seemed like a great guy which makes me sad like when Mr Boseman passed away as he also seemed very authentic and honest/kind. Strangers always seem like better people then I've ever met and the good ones get taken too soon, while the selfish, mean people seem to live forever. I enjoy the Wick franchise and I haven't had a fondness for movies like I used to, but this was pretty good.

You know. A thought actually occurred to me after watching the fourth movie. You know how it's stated that all the high ranking people like Winston and the Marquis are "easily replaceable"? And that there's always someone waiting? While that may be true. I bet it's actually very very rare for that to happen. Why do I think that? Simple. A lot of the high ranking people are old. The Harbinger, Winston, the Osaka Continental owner. They all got to be well over the age of seventy. People like Winston stay in their positions until they're either killed or they die by natural causes. My guess is that going by how arrogant the Marquis was. I take it he hasn't been in his position for very long to understand the consequences of his goals. Every single person we met that respected John was well into their forties or about maybe ten years older than John. But it was long enough for them to understand what John was capable of back during his youth. Marquis, the adjudicator, they all had to be in their thirties or late twenties. So they never grew up when John was in his prime. Case in point. You can be replaced. But it's rare. But those that take the place of the old are arrogant and cocky bc they don't know what they're really dealing with. At least until they see John holding a gun to their heads.

I haven't seen the movie yet but at the end of John Wick 4 when Winston and the Bowery King are standing over John's grave, is that. Like the scene from the matrix when the Oracle and the Architect was at the end when Neo died talking of how things are going to be. And then, years later, another Matrix movie comes back where Neo is alive? Meaning John Wick never dies.

Almost every comment is about wanting a Winston backstory...I get it, I want that too... and we're getting it. The series 'The Continental' is about just that very thing... it takes place a long time in the past, with the main character being Winston and Cheron as young men (hes obviously worked with Winston since the beginning, so you can't have a Continental/Winston backstory without him) doing whatever it takes to become manager.. Judging by his skills in chapter 3, Cherone did the dirty work to get Winston in that position. i believe he's an ex assassin, where Winston is more the brains and a strategist than a skilled assassin. it's supposed to be 3 part series, giving the history of the hotel as well as Winston's raise to power, so it should have the previous manager aswell. Each episode will be longer than an hour each. They wanted to give it a theatrical feel to it, so it'll be more like a movie cut in 3 parts. I want a John Wick prequel.. From his life becoming abandoned as a child, to his time being trained as an assassin, his early jobs/first kill, how he came to be so respected and well known within that universe, all the way up to meeting his wife and who she is and how she's connected to this world..She has to know who John is and what he does for a living. i think Winston was her Dad or father figure, that'd do a couple things... One, Winston would be her connection to the world of John and assassins, while also explain the close relationship between John and Winston, the love and concern Winston has for our favorite assassin and vise-versa. As well as why someone who's such a stricter for the rules like Winston, he's still willing to sretch and bend the rules to benefit john, even when John doesn't ask or expect it. It's obvious there's no one else i could see Winston doing that for and even putting himself in danger of the high table... On the flip side, every decision or deal John makes with someone, he always does what's best for himself and Winston. Winston also seems to be the only person that John seemingly will refuse to kill under any circumstance, not even after being shot 5 times off a roof by Winston did he ever believe he was truly betrayed by Winston or want to kill him, He just got more angry with the High Table, so there's more there than just being friends with a hotel manager and his staff.. Then finishing off the prequel or series with the 'impossible task' that was given to him to complete in exchange for his freedom... They could film that part of the series or movie now while John is still young enough to play John who's at minimum 4 years younger than the 4th installment, cause that chick who was the bar tender in the first one asked, "how long has it been, John, 4 years?" Leading me to think he got out 4 maybe 5 years prior so he could get married. For everything prior to that impossible task, they could use multiple actors to show the various parts of his life including his childhood, teenage years, and first few years as an assassin while Keanu narrates the major events of his life. That would give us an amazing story without going back on his death, aswell as limiting his physical involvement since he is getting older and chapter 4 worked him over pretty good at 58 years old. Heck, they could do that and at the very end show John actually die on the steps and that the prequel and narration was just John's life flashing before his eyes, cause scientists believe we go through our entire life once we die..and the ending showing that would be completely unexpected. I always thought it was pretty wild that someone who helped them out so much in building their organization and gained the respect of every one of his peers, many of them being friends.. that they'd rather see him dead by giving him a seemingly impossible task, than allow him live a normal life he feels like he's earned. Which only ensures that he'd never come back or ever be of any use to the table or those who live under it, cause he'd be dead...if he failed but survived, it could of turned John in his physical peak against them, which wouldn't be a good thing for any of them because the only other thing everyone has for John outside of respect, is fear, and if John laid enough bodies to build your organization, he can damn well destroy it.

Being an assassin doesn't mean you couldn't have served in the military. I get that people often think of soldiers as "good guys" and assassins as "bad guys". Latter is mostly true. But serving in the military doesn't automatically make you a good person. Also since you were trained you have some skill set that is overlapping with that of an assassin. Much less in reality than what people think, but there is such overlap. Though personally if I were looking for assassins to have, I would go to professionals that did so for a living, which would mean various branches of SOF and some field people from Agencies. People that are trained as assassins for the government. While Marine, even if they are good are trained much more in general military ways of killing/disabling the opposition forces. Different mindset, which is why I don't think there is big overlap between the two professions. Probably the best way would be to train assassin from the time they were children. They wouldn't need to learn all the "unnecessary" stuff (for assassination) that regular Marine/Soldier has to learn. They could focus on skills that would be tailored to the specific type of work they are supposed to do. That doesn't mean that soldier who isn't in SOF-type organization within military (and even then there are various subsets that are further or closer to being actual assassins) couldn't become one. To the contrary, my point is that they could. But due to specializing in different fields, not only would they enter the new job later, they would also have to take time to learn new skills. I'm of course taking liberty of separating assassins from simple killers and also some hit mans, because we would be looking for people that could take up variety of tasks in various places around the world. Or at least various types of tasks. Hit men usually specialize in taking 1 or 2 types of targets and have known MO. Some with wider skills could be considered assassins (assuming we think of the type we see in the movies), but some wouldn't fit the criteria.
