I see a lot of comments about how 13:35 and 11:40 was in. I slowed them down and zoomed in at the moment of contact and although both to our perspective would look like they contacted the back of the line, they very well could be out. Our perspective being behind the ball will give it the appearance of being further into the court than the ball may actually be. Additionally, if they were both in, they were barely in, fractions of an inch on the back part of the line, meaning these were incredibly hard balls to call and if they were called correctly or incorrectly it really doesn't matter as we have no side angle or hawkeye to confirm. So everyone saying she/he was robbed should probably just be quiet as it's not as obvious as people are making it seem.

Winston, it's nice you show videos of sets you lose. A ton of youtubers only show their best moments or the matches they win and they never or rarely show matches they lose. I think it's an insecurity thing, but it's nice that you don't mind that much and show everything. Please continue to play players that challenge you and compete at a high level. Oh man, Winston had it on his racket a few times! Good resilience by Claire to switch up her game plan when the backhand kind of let her down. First match it seemed like her backhand was her weapon of choice, but the timing was a little off on this set. I liked seeing her change the plan and focus on going inside out on the forehand more often to help get her back in the match. Winston played really solid and made her uncomfortable with much more variety of shots and spins this go around (which is good strategy when playing a heavier/flatter hitter). Unfortunately, he wasn't able to close it out at the net, or the set would've been his. He also seemed to run a little out of gas in the tie-break (not running down the balls we usually see him run down), which is understandable playing in camera-melting conditions. Thanks for the content guys!

@ronaldt79472 жыл бұрын
Winston ur play is better since your last match with Claire. The height of your balls early in the set affected Claire and is what caused poorer execution from her. This set should have been 6-2. Winston got very tentative at 5-2 and was hoping Wishing Claire would miss... very nervous aka choking... stay the course thru the finish and focus less on the win by staying committed to ur process and you will complete the match convincingly. Next time you play Winston Claire focus on pressuring his backhand with repeated shots rather than pressuring his movement by changing directions so much if you want to win easily. Enjoyable to watch thank you for allowing us to view...oh yeah Winston bringing Claire in with a short chip return to one side then passing or forcing her to volley is a good strategy( see game 1)

Cool set, fun to watch. As opposed to her near-flawless execution in the last match, I think Claire was maybe overhitting a touch on short balls early on. Another change was on her serve, where I think she dropped her tossing arm a touch early at times, which led to some struggles with the serve going into the net. But so solid on both sides of the net. Winston's loopers worked unless they didn't. Claire slammed some of those high-bouncers! Rematch!

Winston - your movement was much smoother (and quieter) in this match and I think that resulted in better shots and better play overall on your part. Well played. Claire is really good. Good movement, good strokes, good aggression. Winston, I know you said (in reply to my comment on another video) that you are trying to bulk up, but seriously, if you want to get better at tennis, you are already at least 10lbs too heavy maybe even 20. One can tell by your movement and the speed of your strokes that you have too many slow-twitch muscle fibers from all that weight lifting. Your call, of course.

Good stuff: Classic banger v grinder tennis. Pleasing and interesting to watch… With a player like Claire, the match is generally going to be on her racquet. If she drives hard, with accuracy she will have the advantage. Conversely, if Winston can maintain a high % of 1st serves in, and can keep his ‘heavy’ balls deep, he can push Claire to over hitting some lower percentage shots, increasing score board pressure. V good content, IMO.

Closer set. Winston didn't run around the backhand. As a result, better court coverage. What Winston wasn't able to do was better net play. Credit to Winston who may not be comfortable moving forward, but did go to net to put away the ball. As a result, was successful at times at the net. Winston's foot speed was really exposed with Claire's lobs against Winston. Winston wasn't able to move fast enough to hit overheads. Winston has to improve his overheads, volleys and swinging volleys. Overall, much better effort from Winston and it showed. It was a close set! Keep moving forward. Need to step into the shot to put away to ball. Had Winston executed better 1st service percentage and less unforced errors, maybe Winston could have won the set. Easier said than done, but it's a must against a good player like Claire. Winston had opportunities to win the set, but the painful unforced errors hurt his chances to close the set out. Claire was generous in this set. Claire could be a slow starter, so Winston really needs to take advantage of that before Claire gets into the zone with her game.
