13 degrees here at noon - no bees about, but enjoy seeing some birdies getting seeds off the summer flowers I left standing - it’s cool the bees pollinated in the summer and now the birds have something to eat

Ive been feeding the birds sunflower seeds, and suit cakes. They have been really hungry.

Up here at a mile high, it's been 40 to 50° in the shade, thus the girls are flying around. I'm feeding them the pollen substitute and I've got some Boardman feeders with two to one sugar. They'll suck down a gallon and a half a day when the sun's out strong.

They are grumpy. Yes they make great alarms. I see them all hours of the night coming up to eat at the comunity feeder. They must have decent night vision. I'm surprised a fox or coyote hasn't trybto get one, but they are pretty agressive. Coyote would be fighting all 8 huge geese. Lol

How often do you clean your pollen feeder if at all and does the pollen substitute have a shelf life in a feeder mine been there since October but nothing is wet just a little dry crust
