BIG NEWS FROM RUSSELL! HELP US GET TO TEXAS! I am on a mission to send a Polish youth baseball team from Katowice to Austin, Texas in the spring of 2025 for some PL vs. USA baseball games! If you have been enjoying my videos over the last six years, I'd love to have you contribute to this exciting idea by donating whatever you can to either the GoFundMe link or the Zrzutka.pl link below. Every little bit helps us a lot, and it would mean so much to these kids and make my decade! Thank you in advance, and see you in the next episodes :)

What might surprise you most about Polish people is their fearlessness to travel the globe while exploring some pretty amazing destinations. I can easily admit that I probably never would have travelled to Agadir, Morocco if it weren't for my students, friends, and family who persuaded me to go. I'm so glad I listened! I hope you enjoy this unique episode :)

Great video! Yes, traveling is a Polish thing :) Because we can! :) I met many Americans saying "I've never been there", even if it was about some famous locations in the US. Good to see you trying to travel with us :)

As always, loved the video and your positive energy. Beautiful shoots. Glad you had a fun time. As an introvert I try to avoid countries like Morocco, Egypt (sooo much scammers there... they often won't let get you off the camel once you get on it unless you pay them more money...) or Turkey, as I don't like being bothered by strangers all the time. I really recommend Croatia for holidays! It's a Slavic country, culturally similiar to Poland, and most people mind their own business. Not so warm during winter though, but I think it's a great destination for summer. I especially recommend Lovran, it's not full of tourists like Split.

I hear that Dubrownik is very nice as well, the only trouble being 'wall-to-wall' tourists getting off the cruise ships. I understand what you say about being scammed, I remember taking the taxi from the airport and being dropped off near my hotel when we had already agreed on a price only to be asked by the driver if I had a little more money for him. It is so embarrassing after a while and tiring. They seem to think that all foreigners are just money-making machines.

I worked a bit in Morocco back in 2017. I expected it to look just like what you can see in the background of this video but was pleasantly suprised by greenery and mild climate of northern Morocco. I love the people - even though there were some cultural differences, in the end I felt we are closer than I expected before. Of course you will meet different people in popular tourist hot-spots. I feel like those are places where the hustlers, shrewd and even "aggressive" (as you've said, but not in a violent way) merchants/advertisers thrive. It reminded me of Zakopane and infamous shrewdness of Polish Górals. Rural Morocco, where I spent most of my time, was way more relaxed.

Coraz więcej osób uczy się polskiego, 30 lat po odzyskaniu wolności robi swoje. Poza tym Polonia jest obecna prawie w każdym zakątku globu. Kultura ciągle się zmienia tak jak i ludzie.

Enjoy your time! The omnipresence of Polish in some places puts a smile on my face. I always remember a statement from one of my American coworkers claiming that Polish is an obscure and dying language. Obviously, I knew that was incorrect, but your statements nicely balance it out. :)

@@LoveMyPoland It is true. There is less and less of what is indigenously Polish in Poland. A sign of the times we live in. The only salvation in ethnographers who will save it from oblivion.

@Likethesilenceoflight Poland is adopting more and more Western culture. Young people seem to be more keen to fit into the EU. Look at how the drinking culture has changed as a fun example. Weddings are not as important as they used to be. Manners have changed. PL is simply changing.

@Likethesilenceoflight Absolutely their right, and it's an inevitable change. Some cultural change is good for Poland having spent decades under communism.

Which airport did you use? I suppose that Katowice is the nearest to you and there is an added bonus of a new rail link between Czestochowa and the airport that opened last year (October?) I flew twice to Morocco with EaseyJet but not to Agadir only to Marrakesh. I have heard that Fes is also very interesting with a marvelous castle. I do not understand why your Polish wife would be so upset as being mistaken as Russian as many people do look very similar and the accent is also fairly close. You fail to mention that Russians too have a lot of disposable income and travel very extensively. You do not have to travel to only Agadir to hear a lot of Polish and Russian. I was recently in Malta and my God, I thought I was in Warsaw! I heard Polish spoken almost everywhere and the hotel in which I stayed was like one back in Leningrad! It is common sense that the locals will always pander to whatever brings in an income but I was not aware that Moroccans spoke Polish. Perhaps you could branch out and open a new language school here as well?!

Only once was I shocked nearly to the death: one day in 2005, on a lonely street in Bristol (UK), I met a group of men dressed in traditional highlander costumes and speaking in the Podhale dialect. I would sooner expect a UFO to land...

Russell Poles are everywhere. They are a nation of curious travellers. Even in the times of great poverty, when Poles emigrated en masse to the USA, a Pole who had made a bit of money did not just sit at home, but took his kids and his wife, packed them into his car and drove off to discover the country where he was to spend the rest of his life. Poles do not sit at home. As for Morocco, it has recently become a very fashionable holiday destination in Poland. It happens every few years that the fashion changes. Let's see what the marketers come up with next year and what they will promote? I wonder what they have left because they have already advertised probably everything. 👍👍😂😂

@Poland So that is around 3,100 British pounds, I would say that is still enough to pay to visit a local 'third-world' country. You must have sold a lot of English language lessons to pay for that.
