In this video we spend the night outside in snow and low temperatures of -7°C (19,4°F). We'll show you how to make a fire in such adverse conditions and with as little equipment as possible. We also tried out a tarp setup variant that allows three or four people to be well protected from snow, rain and wind and still has plenty of space for a fire and cooking.
We are accompanied by Slawik. He is a former Soldier of the German army with 10 years of professional experience. Among other things, he completed the training course to become a lone fighter, trained as a paratrooper and was ultimately an instructor himself.
In short: A real professional when it comes to tactical bushcraft and survival.
There is hardly a situation in which it is more difficult to start a fire than in snow, ice, rain and wet conditions and under these adverse conditions we first looked for a place to camp in the dense forest, setup a shelter with our two tarps, which protects us well from wind and weather, we looked for combustible material and tinder and then started a fire with as little equipment as possible. A fire provides warmth and gives you the opportunity to prepare a warm meal outside, both of which are essential if you want to survive outside in such weather conditions.
We explained and showed as much as possible, so that in this video you will also find a tutorial on how to make a fire in adverse conditions (low temperatures, snow, wet & rain).
We were able to further develop our bushcraft and survival skills and think that there should also be useful tips and tricks included.
Of course you can also just use this video to accompany us on this atmospheric tour through the snowy forests and winter wonderland ;-)
Have fun!
