Winter Camping - White Mountains of New Hampshire

Chris & Chris go winter camping in the northern Presidential Range of the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Known for some of the world's worst weather (www.mountwashi..., it's a cold but otherworldly place in winter!
A late start leads forces them to set up in the dark, but they're rewarded with one of the best sunrises of the year. Afterwards, they meet up with local skier Andrew Drummond to photograph him skiing some of the steepest lines on the East Coast.

It has been so long since I've waken up with snow on my tent in New Hampshire. That thrill of waking up and getting dressed to take a leak when it is 20 below and still dark at 7 AM. Thanks, this brought me way back.

That’s awesome. We can’t say we totally agree it’s a thrill to get out for the morning pee - but it is definitely a mental battle.

I went up Tuckerman's ravine trail and not having worked out in years (holy crap).. Coming down was the worst you have to step on the rocks on the trail, but at the end of the day it was so magical! It was soooo gorgeous.. Videos don't do it justice when it comes to hearing the nature and the views. I'd do it over again any day! Mount Washington Auto Road is another story.

Yes, they do. In fact, it’s usually folks not from NH that don’t care or don’t know. This is legal winter camping on a three foot snow pack.

@chrisandchris the overall attitude an immaturity of the hikers over the last 10 years has gone down hill. You can't ask people to respect the rules without someone getting in your face. The non locals seem to be the gems /sarc
