Winter Crappie fishing

I have the aluminum mold that makes the black and pink lure you are using. It is one of my favorites, it is a large mold too, you can crank out 36 baits in one pour. Crappie get finicky and those lures get them to hit since it is the size fry they like to eat, i get a lot of reaction bites with them. If there is shad, there will be shad fry. I have a mold also that makes 1 inch, 2 inch and 3 inch shad, they call it a shad tail, it has a shad body and a stinger tail like the black and pink lure. I fish for crappie every once in a while, this spring we had some epic rains and on my lake when it is over 8 ft high the crappie are stacked post spawn, I whacked 500 in two weeks, imagien a keeper on every drop. My lake is chock full of them, it does get ridiculous but fun to catch. I just like that light action bite bette than the big bite.

Just curious, is that basically a high low rig with a drop shot weight on the bottom? Seems like a pretty good idea. Never thought of running 2 baits at once for panfish.

They have to post them by law. Sometime the ranger comes by checking fishing licenses. I’ve never been kicked out like at other canals. The sheriff is the asssss who kicks people out
