WINTER CYCLING SUCKS! - This was the dirtiest ride I've ever done

I think most of you need to invest in things like overshoes, gloves, gatorskin tyres, oh yes and mudguards 😂 for those mucky country rides. It makes winter riding so much more pleasurable.

haha we actually have gloves and overshoes. just didnt wear it cause the forecast was meant to be 14 degrees and dry.. Oh how were we tricked by the weather forcast! haha but definitely need winter tyres and mudguards

First week of having Gatorskins, a fair sized chunk of glass went right through one. I'll update in 6 months if I get fewer punctures though.

​@@syknowland3902😢 Not much you can do in that situation I guess. Nothing is puncture proof. I use them on a bike on wet mucky rides, I've still had punctures but nothing like using 'summer' tyres.

@@markfly480 My own fault, swapped after 3 punctures in 4 weeks commuting, and I even knew where the smashed glass was, but it just seemed to appear everywhere and you can only dodge so many dropped bottles and glasses.

Love the sports direct mug. Looked like a fun ride, what was your final ascent total, as I wonder how well i'd cope with a hilly ride, some days I feel it, others, not so much. Would love to see the clean up, although considering, it didn't look too bad.

haha its my best mug! The total stats were: Distance: 87 Miles Ascent: 1417M To be fair I think when you are in the middle of the route, you will have no choice but to finish it cause you are away from home! haha. Clean up of the bike?

Bike clean up for sure. Do you add a few new spreadings of grease on any parts, or are your strip downs left for a complete tear down. Some of those wet roads would have had me, country lanes are small, and way too many potholes. Good distance, even better climbs. Would have taken me the best part of the day Dam, i had the sport direct super cup about 15 years ago. God dam 😅😆

lol I rode a local trail last night and … got a puncture and wet through and forgot to bring a puffy , waterproof jacket and over pants with me … spending the morning getting leaf mulch out of my drivetrain #asyoudo

Try riding where roads are covered in cow 💩😂 Mudguards with a flap, heavier tyres,slime inner tubes,never had a puncture riding on rougher roads northern England, Scotland Hi viz,top,gloves,winter used to be time for recovery just ride around no effort
