Lots of these large LA paintings are looking the same, different artists.

Wasn't a fan of the Walter Price and David Zwirner paintings, but the rest were all awesome. The Nick Thomm pieces were my favorite. Even though I would hang these paintings in my house, I can't stand the descriptions of the works themselves. The moment I hear the "intent" of the work or whatever nonsenese is used to describe the paintings, I get this nausea that makes me ill. There's not one thing about these paintings said that actually means anything. I literally could take 1000 words at random and make it mean more.

Nick Thom’s work is painfully derivative - and I doubt highly he is inspired by California etc as the pallet is way off - feels contrived. bravo on the other shows especially Hauser and Wirth - they consistently show great work.
