Great video guys and an absolutely amazing session. I cracked lense other week on my camera and hadn't realised until I went to edit. These things happen. 🐟 🐠 🎣

Always love these small river fishing videos, would be good to see yourself and Nick (Avon Angling) do another video together! Is that the Darent Valley 8ft Specialist rod you're using again?

Do you ever use a chair or stool? I'm of a similar build to you, but I'm getting less and less agile, so I need to pick my swims carefully and carry a strong/light folding chair. Any recommendations?

Chris I do and I can fully recommend the Shakespeare folding stool, it's strong and light. I use it a fair bit unless I'm in a particularly stubborn mood 😂

On the Yorkshire spate rivers, the banks are mostly very steep and usually covered in mud after floods, so I now regard a strong chair with adjustable legs as an essential safety item in winter, along with long, strong, spare rod rests for scrambling down the bank and climbing back up again. It doesn't get any easier with advancing years! I made myself a small wooden table with sides that screws into a rod rest and it is very useful for balancing cups of tea, phone and small tackle items on precarious slopes. I rarely use the back legs of the chair, as the banks are so steep, but adjustable front legs are essential. I use an old Fox chair, which is heavy to carry but very solid. With chairs, it is always a compromise between lightness for carrying and strength for getting dug into the steep banks. A weak chair that lets you down could be dangerous on steep muddy banks. I could do with a lighter one for very long walks though!
