Deady Bear which is only useful if you already know what the games key bindings are. You can definitely say up is the up arrow, but if the game didn’t bind the key to up and did it to L, then it still doesn’t matter! 😅 because the C64 was a keyboard. So in order to correctly bind it all, you’d have to know the button set up for each game you’d be playing. Then reconfigure each time you switched games. The main fact they can type letters correctly means it’s just bound to the normal keyboard set up, and all the trouble is actually how the game set up where all the buttons are: in true c64 style!

He obviously respects more the efforts of a couple of devs pushing the limits of the era than a cynical AAA company throwing 10 millions at a safe project and another 10 at selling it. imho AAA games are so stale, and have no personality because their massive inversion requires them to appeal to everyone. Older and indie games are usually much more personal and therefore more artistic despite their limitations and flaws.

Huh? The C64's keyboard, at least in North America, has the standard QWERTY layout. Some of the non-letter, non-number keys might be in unique positions, but that was normal for a computer back in those days, before everyone settled on a particular layout (and today we've got various layouts once again, for some keys).

I'm wondering if maybe they've configured the wrong controller. Commodore 64 had this weird quirk, most games, if they used just one joystick, it had to be in port 2. That might explain why the menu worked but the game seemingly didn't.

Andrew Fralinger Don't get me wrong, I think both anthems are sweet. More pointing out the difference in tone. "Oh, Canada" is lovingly patriotic, rousing and respectful. "Star Spangled Banner" is a ballsy song that may as well have been a Heavy Metal "Come at me bro!" in the 1810s. Kinda exemplifies both countries in the long run, whatever conclusions can be drawn from that. TLDR Both songs are kickass for different reasons, and thats okay.
