We need to vent and question things but we need to avoid promoting misinformation. That's why so many people are posting about North Carolina getting virtually no help from the federal government and complaining that the feds are going to "take 100% care" of the rich people in southern california. It no doubt feels that way to them, but that doesn't make it true.

Thank you for the tour! I don't mind you talking about the fires. You feelings are similar to mine. Prayers for your daughter. I had a surgery last Spring. Had to relocate my stomach from my chest cavity back to where it belonged. My digestive system has not been the same since. I will pray for your daughter. My brother lived in Altadena til he passed 2 yrs ago. The house is now gone. A beautiful 3 million dollar house. I feel for the people that bought it. It will never be the same.😢

I saw a story about a man who bought a bunch of sprinklers and hoses in case of an emergency like this and when the fires were coming he set the sprinklers on his roof and around the house before he left. When he came back his house was saved as well as the 14 houses south of him. I thought that was so smart. Good luck with the fires and your daughter’s recovery. Your garden is doing so well in the winter, hope it’s bringing you peace during stressful times. 🌿

I'm so sorry you are going through this. But don't let them steel your joy, this is what they want and always remember to stay one step ahead of them. Things are changing and nobody is going to come save us so we need to help each other. Maybe you should start propagating from every plant you have and put them in a certain area. Save as many seeds as you can from now on and keep them in a fireproof container or in a go bag so you can take certain things with you if you leave in a hurry. What happened in Cali can happen to any of us at any time. We all need to be ready! I need a fireproof bag for my seeds!! I was listening to a motivational video today and the guy said if someone steels money or takes it the wrong way, if they are not in alignment with it, they will eventually lose it all! Robbie, I always come running to your channel to destress and feel a kinship with the wonderful steward of nature that you are. But here I am, wishing there was a way to return all the joy your channel has brought me through the years. California, especially Southern California has always been the land of my dreams and the true home of my heart, but I am unable to afford living there. Now, my heart aches for the many who have lost homes, futures and lives to these wild fires and that includes both humans and our beloved animal friends. So let's make sense of this math kids. Janisse Quinones the new general manager of the LA Department of Water and Power is being paid $750,000.00 a year nearly twice as her predecessor. But the president of these United States of America is paid a yearly salary of $400,000.00 with an expense allowance of $50,000.00. Wow! Try to square her job being more important than our president. I saw an account of an army veteran who said he bought a bunch of the cheap oscillating sprinklers for just a time as what is going on now in LA. How about it saved his home. I just feel like the people in “charge” really did not try to save much of anything. That may be harsh but the more I see and hear it is quite obvious to me sadly.

I eat the zucchini leaves! I fry them in olive oil with Redmond's Real Salt and spices. Sometimes I add other veggies with it. Good in soups too!

I didn't know that prisoners make up about 40% of firefighters in most of California. They're paid $21 a day and they get sent in for the hard work. They're on the mountains chopping down trees and brush. 12 hour and 24 hour shifts right now.

That's only during wildfire emergencies, not regular firefighters, and they are only select low risk inmates. Not sure what the firefighter inmates do in other states. I imagine it's similar although possibly without pay.

I would assume that California might benefit from volunteer fire personnel. Up until the 70’s, most rural areas in the Midwest had programs like that, now it’s mostly professionals.

You shouldnt have to buy pumps your elected officials get your tax money and they are responsible for the infrastructure and safety of California citizens. We used to have government that, overall, tried to do the right thing, but those days are gone. Over. The greedy filthy rich want it all for themselves, like King Midas, and they'll have their riches in a world that won't support life as we have known it for eons. They and 'the news' doesn't talk about the truth and the truths: ordinary people have to speak up. We really don't have much time, either. We all need to wake up and speak truth to power in large numbers and not be afraid even though they intimidate us and make us scared to speak openly about what's hitting us so hard--and will only get worse unless and until we stop using fossil fuels.
