I LOVE how the passap does circular knitting on thumbs and fingers.

The way the pushers work makes it so cool. I want to try mittens when I get done the plaid project.

I also have an idea to knit mittens. I even have the model in my head. Today I had some free time, and I knitted half of the gloves following the pattern you sent me. I only need to knit the fingers, and I will send you an update when I get them done. 😊

Again you have explained and gotten such close up images, you have made reading those Passap MODEL BOOK instructions look easy. Thank you so much for what you are doing for everyone getting familiar with the Passap knitting system and patterns.

It is a little over 1 year ago you published the video opening the knitting machine box. The first time you had even seen a knitting machine you could use. Look how much you have learned, made, AND EXPLAINED to others in a year. WOW! You are AMAZING!! Thanks for all your efforts to help others enjoy their Passap machines.

In your true Artofclay fashion, very well done!! Your videos are binge-worthy, in my opinion. You explain the Passap instructions so well. They are so confusing on their own. This is inspirational, I have finally gotten the sock calculator done, I think...I am still testing to make sure it works well on other sizes...but this glove, now is in my head, and I will be aiming for the calculator form to do mittens and gloves this year too. Thank you again for another super inspiring tutorial!!

Great train and graffiti images in your intro. Are gloves or mittens more common for adults where you live? Are glittens used often where you are? That is a hybrid glove mitten in one. There are two styles of glittens. #1. Is a thumb and index finger seperate from the mitten covering the rest of the hand. #2 Is a fully functioning glove with an optional finger cap that makes it into a complete mitten. Have you seen them? Your artist glove is perfection. I have not seen a machine knitting pattern for one anywhere but your channel. A Big thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your comment! In my country, gloves are the most popular to wear in winter. The small children are wearing mittens probably because it's easy to put them on. Thanks for telling me about the glittens. I have seen such only on Pinterest. I may try to come up with an instructional video for one of the types.

Great video, what is the edge spring's purpose/function?
@ArtOfClay Жыл бұрын
The edge springs help the end stitches to be knitted off properly. Without the edge springs, the end stitches may not be knitted off or may drop. Also, they maintain equal yarn tension all along the stitches. If you knit without edge springs, the end needles will be pulled up on every row.

@@ArtOfClay its not a machine like this it witch I was extremely lucky to get my hands on whats called a (The Simpleframe knitting machine) its nothing like this but from what I can understand and what I'm learning seems like I can do everything like on this type just slower and smaller but a lot of fun too. I feel this give me a better idea now that I want to buy me a machine like this .
@ArtOfClay Жыл бұрын
Thank you for telling me the name of the machine. It's an interesting one. Yes, you are correct. The principle of work is exactly the same and you can knit many things on it. It would just take some hand manipulation. This is a pattern for gloves, that one of my viewers sent me and asked me to make a video about last year. I guess it would work better for your machine because it's a single-bed knit: drive.google.com/file/d/1EpRsNs3DI0ogV13GrxZ_F-RhVWFANTT3/view As long as I see your machine uses thicker yarn than the Passap, so you will have to use fewer needles to get the same size. You can start from the rib, make the increases for the thumb, then continue with the flat part. To knit the rib, you have to drop the stitch from every other needle and then, hand-latch the yarns on the front side ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIarYaCKp8yNodU ). Finally, you will have to hand-sew the fingers and the side. I hope this would be of help.

i just got one of these from my neighbour and every time i try to use it it just gets jammed i’ve watched your tutorials and i’m not sure what i’m doing wrong
@ArtOfClay2 жыл бұрын
Does the machine get jammed when knitting the first rows? If so, I guess the yarn that you are using is too thick for the machine. Try using fine yarn. There is a yarn chart on page 9 (page 10 in the PDF) in the manual.
@jettaloudon16342 жыл бұрын
thank you i found that thinner yarn definitely helps but now i’m finding that i can’t get past two rows because the yarn isn’t staying on the hooks not sure how to properly explain i wish i could send pictures
@ArtOfClay2 жыл бұрын
I can't imagine what is going on, but If you can't knit the first two rows, probably the tension on the mast isn't correct. I am not sure.
@galaxythree46532 жыл бұрын
Good chance you are not using the correct stitch sizes for the yarn you are using as well as not doing a graduated increase in stitch size for the first few rows. 1 or 2 as for first row 2.or 3 ss for second row. 4 ss for the 3rd row. Now. 5 or 6 for garment as and you should be on your way. Make sure you follow the needle rule and have your edge Springs on the end needles you are knitting. Use the correct strippers in the locks. Black with the wheels for single bed knitting. Orange or pink for double bed knitting. Make sure you dont knit too fast. Check your mast head tension as you knit. Make sure you tap down the needle butts on the first few rows as you see Artofclay doing. Good luck
