Just found this one Rusty - terrific video, particularly the drone footage, and hats off for braving those conditions, when most of us would consider it too cold for cycling. Risking frostbite and falls on the ice to show East Lothian in these conditions shows great commitment, so well done. I hope you gave the bike some TLC after this one.

Looks fantastic up there in the snow and ice, so thanks for sharing - and hope your feet quickly thawed out 🙂 Don't blame you for being cautious around the cows; I'm very wary of them too. The hoary old "they're more scared of you than you are of them" line doesn't give me much comfort when I'm looking at several one-tonne beasts glaring at me for straying into their territory!

Thanks for the upload. Interesting that they have put up the No Through Route at Gilchriston Farm, that section is part of The Capital Trail, they've maybe got scunnered with the passing cyclists (and walkers?). Would have been a great day to test out a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Winters, you didn't seem to be struggling for grip through. Could feel your icy feet by the end, chapeau for that!

Thoroughly enjoyed this and made me wish I was there. There’s a beauty in the flatter ground too - but then I’m from Lincolnshire so I have to say that 😂. Color of the sky and the crispness of the snow underfoot - hope I get chance to do the same down here before the spring comes. Enjoy your well deserved break and looking forward to 2023’s adventures!

Great video as usual... 👍 Jumping backwards and forwards through your videos and loving them all (Even the dubious music in earlier presentations). 😀 Very basic question from just a casual off tarmac rider... Why do gravel bikes seem to generally not have front suspension? I understand why rear suspension isn't needed or desirable on a gravel bike but from a personal perspective (I guess elderly rider). I find no front suspension really jars my body and personally I wouldn't be without it. So just wondering.... Thanks in advance.

I'm glad you like the videos, thanks for sticking with them. I think the general lack of suspension comes from the road bike heritage, the geometry is more for speed and efficiency. I think also generally they are not really designed to be ridden quite as much on the routes we tend to find in the UK and probably, a mountain bike hardtail would be more suitable. There are suspension gravel bikes around and even full suspension ones making an entrance, so it might become more common to see suspension on these frames in the future. That's my limited insight anyway, I'm just a fool with a camera - I don't actually know much about this stuff! 😄
