This is my first winter as a natural and I am just going with protective styling. I have kept my hair braided and I redo it every month. I cowash my scalp once a week. Throughout the week, whenever I feel necessary, I spritz my scalp with water and seal with an oil. So far so good. I plan on wearing my hair out again starting May. :)

Cute scarf. "Control" I hear you. I like doing hot oil treatments b4 I wash my hair, too. I'm going to try mixing the castor oil with the olive oil. Good tip. Thanks.

Layering product...leave in, pudding/cream, then oil. Depending on how cold...I will have to do this a couple of times a week. Just have to find the right products to layer that won't create build up

I'm a new subcriber, I like your videos. Liked this one and the fact that you are leaning towards more natural products. I recently went to my natural stylist, who told me I had product build up, so she clarified my hair and said she recomends a more natural line of products. Thanks again Lady T.

I HAD A GIFT CARD! If i didnt have that, I wouldnt have even purchased Carols Daughter products! I was impressed by my results and wanted to share it! I've never tried their cleansing and conditioning products just the stylers. And was impressed. My hair stays moisturized longer and the fact that I neglected my hair...it brought it back to life. I will return to my staples when it warms up. I don't post everything on YT that I'm going through with my hair.....its just hair. Take care! :)

Carols daughter is a great line. An there is nothing wrong with hot oil treatments before your wash that is actually the correct way.

This same thing has happened to me too. My hair was not responding to the same products and I'm CG.I went through all steps moisture, protein, and finally did a crystal clarifying treatment as I discovered I have hard water in my area. My hair came roaring back. The product is at Sally's and is only $2.00 to $3.00 depending where you live. Its past a clarifying shampoo as it removes minerals from hard water, rust, and old styling products from your hair. Saved my life! as I was becoming undone!

If you really really can't get your winter dryness under control you can buy a humidifier and leave it on in a room that you frequent the most.

Gurrrl! You said it haha! Honestly, if I wouldn't have gotten a giftcard for Christmas, I wouldn't have purchased the products. I will return to my staples when my hair is back to normal and not excessively dry. The Tui conditioner works wonders on my hair. This is what I'm doing now and what works! The people asked for it haha It's only hair people geez! Thanks lady! Take care!

I love the Carol's Daughter Monoi products; they really reduce breakage and moisturize my hair. The shampoo is/was a staple for me. Right now, I'm using the Terressentials mud wash to cleanse and my hair absolutley loves it, so the CD is taking a back seat to it. Other than that, I'm pretty much sticking to a regimen of prepoo'ing, washing, dc'ing and styling..once every week. I also henna every four weeks on schedule. This works for me year round, although the products I use do change.

lol I'm putting grease on hold for now until my hair gets back on track. I'm having too much fun with this co washing lol and I can't co wash grease out. I use the Oyin hair dew both ways (it's a hair lotion) and it's not greasy on my hair...it just melts in.

THANKS FOR THE HONESTLY. one great product from the Carols daughter line is the Lisa's Hair Elixir. Wonderful tingling scalp sensation, but i would add the castor oil to it since my hair loves castor oil too.not sure what soybean oil does or does not do to the hair but its the first ingredient. $15 a bottle but it lasts a while. I might just try making my own. lol

@101ladyT shea moisture deep conditioner I feel you would love. (Shea Moisture Purification Mask) I also like their other deep conditioner as well. I like shea's moisture and shine mist. and their hair milk. I like that these can be purchased on the ground and are affordable and pretty dang good. I bought CD'S mimosa honey when it was to for 1 and I feel that products seals moisture and is great for winter but i believe it could be to greasy in summer.

When you return back from your $1,000 hair products lol I have a trick that works... Instead of cantu Giovanni direct leave in mixed with aloe Vera juice and olive oil!!!!! Natural! Moisturizing and not so expensive because you can make 2-3 bottles of product from one, it also cuts the sulfate buildup problem... You can layer your gel, or what ever else you may want on top, but I makes such a beautiful soft base of hair!!! Ps please do a tutorial on that hair! I love it!!! You look beautiful
@Ilikefrogs..
@Ilikefrogs.. 11 жыл бұрын
You don't need to mix the Giovanni with Aloe Vera Juice. It's already one of the first ingredients. Plus the Direct Leave in is already pH balanced.

This video was right on time for me :)))...in the beginning of my journey I was using the cheaper conditioners to co-wash and washing my hair weekly (shea moisture shampoo) but as it has grown this winter I have had some dry, brittle hair :(....I finally realized I HAD to switch up my regimine a bit and shampoo less and co-wash with better conditioners. Week one and it feels so much better. Going to try the Carols Daughter conditioning wash and I LOVE me some Oyin...I use the same products :))))

101ladyT I also like Nubian Images EVOO & Moringa repair and extend styling custard. this product is good alone or substituted nside the kimmaytube leave in, as the leave in portion of the recipe. u end up with a creamier recipe versus a runny 1 that 2 me works better. the EVOO has wonderful oils n its ingredients and has no mineral oil parabens, or sulfates. I have tried 2 things from this line and i like them both can be purchased at walgreens. when i do shampoo i reach 4 shea moisture

You should try As I Am coconut co-wash. Its not expensive. 7.99 at Sally's. Its AWESOME for detangling and does wonders with moisture. And it has castor oil in it! Also try tressemme naturals nourishing moisture conditioner. Its about 3.95 at Walmart. Has tons of slip. Slip galore!!! Great for detangling. Its a rinse out conditioner but I use it as a leave in and its been fine! Leaves my hair soft and shiney. You don't have to spend all that money to find good products for natural hair.

I love oyin products, I like CD's Mimosa honey for twisting, CD's healthy hair butter may work i just cant get by the smell yuk! Shea moisture has a great deep conditioer

I found that what really works out the dryness for me is glycerin. My hair loves glycerin and I live in Arkansas (which is always pretty humid), so I have no problems. S-curl is my best friend lol! I never thought to take the all natural route because its too expensive and I love my silicones and sulfates too much!! Plus, I dont put all-natural things into my body or on the largest organ of my body (skin), so why should I put it on dead protein coming from my scalp?

Are you against silicones? I just started using Herbal Essence Hello Hydration (1st time using anything with silicones since I BC last year) last week and I love it!!! However, I am confused because everyone says that silicones are bad and does not let in moisture to the hair shaft, but after 2 uses..I am mad at everyone for making me struggle with detangling for 1 yr w/o this stuff! It is amazing! I am going to try it until I notice adverse signs to my hair, but for now I am happy! Your take?
