Come along with me as I journey through Southern Ohio's gorgeous Hocking Hills. You have to see this place to believe it! Day one I solo hiked 11 miles from Old Man's Cave starting from Devil's Bathtub al the way to Whispering Cave, from there I crossed the Hemlock Bridge and made my way to Cedar Falls, and from Cedar Falls I took the North Country Trail to Ash Cave visiting the Ash Fire Tower along the way before meting up with my wife and our friend Tanya. Together, we hiked the Whispering Cave trail from the lodge parking lot - my second time seeing Whispering Cave today! There were SO many ice structures along the cliff walls down in the gorge.
Day 2, I met up with Casey and we did my exact route from the day prior, except instead of ending in Ash Cave, we took the NCT back toward Cedar Falls and followed the Rim Trail back to the Old Man's Cave visitor center - this was a 14 mile hike. From here, we drove to Conkles Hollow for a mind blowing 3 miles.. I mean, 5k is a short distance for what you experience both down in the gorge and on the rim. After taking in the sights at Conkles, me made our way to the final hiking destination - The Rock House. The Rock House is a short hike, but it's packed with some of the best rock formations in the park, and one of Hocking Hills only true caves!
