Such a neat area to wander and explore. I'm amazed that the top 4' of the dam is plywood against steel poles. I noticed it about 35 yrs ago when a buddy and I were fishing, in what would have been it's shadow if there wasn't a raging storm to the north and west. Water was splashing over the top there above us when we realized what was holding it back. It was one of those laughable moments when we looked at each other with eyebrows in the wind yet squintin' and grinnin'. Warms my blood just thinking about it. The Mason Dixon Trail is fun all along there. A loop I like for a little blood pumper is from the dam up across the power line and up across the top to the outcrop, down the switchbacks, along Mill Creek and back up the road. I find the islands a treat, rugged, windswept, glorious really. Reminds me of Canada in a sense, and it always feels like you could come face to face with an Indian out there. I would love to discuss buying some fuel if you have any free time. I've not been up in a little plane since I was a kid in the '60s. Happily retired where killing time is self defense, and I might write a book. Think I should? Thanks Joe.
