Winter in Switzerland - Winter day in Kandersteg

Winter in Switzerland - my favorite season! In this video we visited Kandersteg Winter Wonderland. Kandersteg is also 1174 meters above sea level and is therefore approx. 140 meters higher than Grindelwald. And at this altitude, lush snowfall can quickly turn into rain again as soon as it gets noticeably warmer. That's why I captured the fresh snow for you and I'm very happy that it turned out so beautifully.

There was a time in my life when I would seek out winterscapes like this. I would pitch my tent and grab my cross country skis so I could experience the beauty and solitude of winter for several days or a week or more. Thank you for sharing these beautiful winter scenes. Those narrow, curvy, slippery roads are almost giving me a heart attack 😃 I thought Switzerland was the most beautiful it could possibly be in September when we were there. Now I see the beauty of winter.. the soft lamplight on the snow is stunning. I’m having a hard time deciding which month I should come next time. Whenever I watch these videos, I try to imagine my great-great-grandparents living there before cars or electricity, and what their lives must have been like. It is so fascinating to me, and I wish I could travel back in time and see it back then! I think it was a hard life, but being surrounded by so much beauty would have made it all worth it. You did a wonderful job showing the beauty of winter in Kandersteg. 😊
