Gaaah! The countdown is on and winter is on its way! I need to get my wood stacked and ready for burning in our heat masters wood boiler this winter! Winter in Canada can bring some insane propane/electrical bills so I’m very thankful to have split wood for the season but I need to get it ready to go!
But with heating our home comes with requiring insulation! It’s time to finish up insulating the cathedral ceiling in our living room and getting the vapour barrier up!
B ❤️

last week you asked if it was worth it to do your own insulation and vapor barrier ,now looking at how happy you are with the results is worth more than than the money you save. be proud of yourself, you deserve to be

I've been watching your program from the beginning, I don't remember when it started. But throughout the entire journey you went through many moods and you never gave up even though many times you had little strength left to hammer a nail. You have overcome hard knocks, but you have surpassed yourself with great success at all times. Seeing your happy face when you install the insulation and the vapor barrier says a lot about you. Your cheeks are red, not from the work, but from the pride you feel at reaching this stage. You still have a lot to do, but with the experience and suffering lived throughout the journey, you will have more red cheeks.👍👏👏💪💪

Good Day, looking very good, your hard work is now paying off, well worth the effort, Happy Birthday to your daughter, it looks like I might be getting my roof replaced soon, as it has suffered storm damage, there is no insulation in the roof, so I might be doing that myself, 240 m² approximately, very very high up, the property is a very old Moulin/mill , dated back to the 1600 , Good luck with party 🎉, From France

Just a tip, dont rush the process, you put up vapor barrier before finishing insulation in the living room. It seems like a great idea, but it just cost you more time in the long run. Finish each step before moving to the next. It would only take you a few extra minutes to install the missing insulation then put up the vapor barrier, then you are done and dont have to come back... Absolutely great progress so far... Happy Birthday to your kiddo...

I absolutely needed to put plastic on the walls to keep the kids safe. I put like 8 staples on the wall to hold the plastic up in the living room temporarily. It won’t take me much time at all to finish it up. Trust me, I was working all the way until my daughter’s party. Weed whacking, decorating, cutting food. Sometimes there isn’t time

1st off. The 1st pile of wood that you guys stacked up. Figured out to be 4.5 cords of wood. The truck load of wood. (Which is a nice score) Equals to be about a 1/3 to half a cord. Overall, I think you might be right in having around 8 cords of wood. Maybe a little better than that. Lastly. Even though I haven't been following all that long. Yet I see the progress that you are making. Which is a good thing. Eventually. When everything is all complete and you and your family are all moved in. It will be all worth the blood, sweet, and tears. Keep up the good work. 😊😊

why do you need vapor barrier just curious?
@SimpleLivingwithBiata

It keeps any moisture or air leaks from coming inside :). It basically distinguishes what is the interior and what is the exterior of the home :)
@MurDocInc
@MurDocInc 3 сағат бұрын
@@SimpleLivingwithBiata Actually by code it`s meant the other way around, in winter time to prevent interior hot moisture from entering the walls and condensing on the sheathing cause all sorts of headaches. In summer it could do the opposite, exterior moisture would condense on vapor barrier that's being cooled by interior AC. But I believe that's only when you have major holes in the sheathing that could draw in alot of moist air.
