How do you prepare and store your rv for winter?
@dr.t.36393 жыл бұрын
I do the winterizing of my 2019 quite differently and have seen good success the past two winters. I use it year round including Midwest winter camping. I'm Interested to see how your method works out.

Looks like you filled your hot water tank with antifreeze. There are three valves for the hot water bypass. Two on the other end of the tank from where you were, close the tank from back filling and open the hot lines for bypass. This way the hot water lines do get protected with antifreeze. You also need to remove that shower head and drain it out well. Also did not notice you putting antifreeze in the shower drain. The shower has a drain trap and the sink does not. Did you consider blowing out the water lines with air prior to using the pink stuff? Airstream does recommend both air and antifreeze. I live not far from you and can help you out if you want to correct it before the deep freeze sets in. Until you do I recommend keeping it heated until you take care of those hot water lines. - Dr. T.

may be page IV-6 actually for the fresh water system. The way you have the valves set in the video the pink stuff went into the hot water lines at the faucets. When you had warm water set it was likely back flowing into the hot water system. The hotter you turned the faucet the more pink stuff went back into the water heater. When you turned it completely hot you lost pressure. There is some pink stuff in your hot lines but is it enough?

Search on line for the Airstream Basecamp Parts Manual. Airstream offers the Parts manual on line for free use. The diagram of the fresh water system helped me a lot. The page may vary based on model year but the diagram seems to not change by year. You can see the three valves in the bypass system in the illustration.

I had to take a little more time to figure it out. After reviewing the owner's manual, I removed the screws from the hinged dinette cover and took a look at the system. I put those screws aside to never be replaced again. I needed to go and review the Parts Manual to figure out where the bypass valves are located. On another day, after thinking the process through and, reviewing the diagram, I went back to do the winterizing with a better idea of what I was looking for.
