Looks like you have no shortage of snow up there! The cabin looks great with the Christmas lights on in the snow. Many of us are envious! My idea this week: how about an extendable fiberglass pole with a push broom head on it, to get down to the glass on the solar panels after you pull the snow down. Just thinking out loud. Great you got the solar doors and all insulated. Would be nice if there was a way you could run an extension cord out there to it and hang like one of the lights everyone does for baby chicks to help keep your batteries and all other components from freezing. Wonder if there’s some type of battery operated one you could put in there. That would be great. Like those lights around the cabin. Sun coming up was beautiful! Congrats to the 60k!!

Jay if you ever suspect your batteries are freezing put a high load on them for 10 min to thaw the cells before charging - you can draw sub zero

Nice roof rake! I'll tell you what, when I pull snow off my roof onto my back deck, I have to do it a few pulls at a time, then shovel the deck. Then pull, then shovel. I once waited to shovel until I was done with the roof...huge mistake! That snow got heavy!

Very nice insulation job- looks like R15 combo on the doors. You seem to get a lot of wind at times and I think you said the power from the wind generator goes to another system. A thought- If, when the other system bats are completely charged, could you shunt the wind power (if DC) via relay and bat SOC sensor to your lifepo4 bats- using a boost DC to DC converter if needed to get voltage to level to charge 48v bat bank. Might keep the lifepo4 bats charged at night/during snow storm/very cloudy days etc.

Nice job. You gave a few ideas what I can do with foam boards and insulation wraps. I am thinking to use it on my tree stand. Have you ever thought about using pipe heat tape to help keep the batteries warm by wrapping them?

I do not know if you would need some thermal mass in your solar shed. Some bricks, a tub of dirt with a way to heat it when you have extra solar or when you are running your generator to keep the batteries warmer longer. A wireless thermometer with a data longer so you know how you shed is doing and to know if you need to make more changes. I hope what you have is good enough, but knowing you will not have to go out to start the generator would be good to know. I will leave a link if I can find what we have but the range might be enough.

I just saw another you tuber install a thermometer with a remote reader in his box containing an inverter generator. Makes it possible to monitor temp inside the box. Might want to install one of those unless your batteries or inverter has one.

Probably should make a removable panel for summer. Might keep the enclosure hotter than you'd like once it starts heating up again. Just a thought.

Instead of scraping those solar panels. Use a spray bottle full of Windshield washer fluid. It will make the snow melt off those panels fast and you won't scratch them. and if your panels are covered in ice it will make the job easier. just spray your panels with lots of windshield washer fluid and watch the results when the panels heat up.
