Winter Living at an Off-Grid Log Cabin in the Woods

It's tradition to bring in every new year with a camping trip so we stayed warm at an off-grid tiny cabin in Northern Ontario for New Years Eve this year. We hike, make some good food and stay warm by the wood stove!

We're Kyle, Alannah & Diesel! We're travelling in our self converted Chevy Express Camper van across North America. Three years ago, we found true freedom on the road as we made our way across Canada in our old SUV. After this trip, we decided we were going to spend our days living life to the fullest... We left our 9-5 jobs to pursue the things we're truly passionate about. You can always make more money, but your time on this earth is never guaranteed! Along the way, we hope we can inspire those who may be contemplating a similar lifestyle.

I really liked the atmosphere you guys captured so well in this video. Capturing the sounds and sights of a warm winter's refuge in a simple cabin came across so well. It was a perfect way to "cleanse the mind" after all the drama of the Trump tariffs against Canada and our PM's response to it last night. Thanks, guys!

Guys really enjoyed this one. Awesome way to bring in the new year with each other and Diesel. It's the beginning of February now. Know this may not be a big thing to you guys. I am in Pensacola Fl and we just had 9 ins. of snow. Wow ! it was so much fun with the family. It will go down in History. Love the cabin and always enjoy watching the videos. Ok..first and foremost…very very well done on this video. Like the others are saying..the drone footage was stunning..love seeing the cooking footage. A+++++ it’s so professional looking, yet we can tell your heart’s are really go into making these for us and you still keep it real!! That cabin was ADORABLE ! The breakfast phenomenal…the steaks made me drool. I could practically smell them..and mushrooms yum! Nice way to spend those days…with “your people” 🥰 and I totally said out loud…ohhh there’s no way they will make it to midnight 🤣🤣🤣 and omg Kyle , the guitar part…you are pretty dang good on that! I used to play a trumpet in school..I choose the “ not so popular “ instrument…and I’m glad you didn’t choose a trumpet..couldn’t imagine that footage with a trumpet..I think I screwed up on my choice.😂 I was always the one who chose the stationery horse on the carousel , cause I felt sorry for them….i’ve heard the saying …. ”there’s always one “… about me in my life so often 🤣🤣🤣 your winter walk with diesel pup looked so crisp and refreshing in the snow. I am so glad you got some time in a cabin and even more excited for the new year of travels and adventures that we get to hitch a ride along with you guys on. Belated Happy New Years guys!!! Is that cabin in the area of Russ's Uncle [ I think ] cottage. You, your old man and Uncle mark have had some fishing weekends there. Just curious. Awesome little shack, cool cooking stove!! Loved the strumming, I know I've mentioned it before and the KZbin Gods are pretty persnickety about music but more of that would be the cherry on the icing on top of the cake!!!
