I do wonder why so many of us find futuristic dystopian urban landscapes so comforting. Myself included, I wonder are we missing something in the present and assuming that gap would be filled at some point in the future. Reflect on the past, imagine the future….. LIVE in the present, for it is ever expiring….

Great question. Even though I am so very content in the present, I feel at home when I listen to BR tracks and look at dystopian pics. Odd. Almost like I belong somewhere else.

It's the music and romanticizing the environment. The music, soft and full of lament creates a sad-gentle vibe. If the music was like a horror movie, the perspective would change. Take away the far view of a lit city and bury the viewer up close with the sickness, death, and violence of those trapped within and the narrative will be truly uncomfortable. I too am fascinated by the Cyberpunk/Blade Runner world, just as long as I am an observer from the comfort of a warm, dry, safe place.
