Winter Packing: How to Fit Everything in a Carry On - Unfancy

Packing in a carry on can be challenging -- especially with winter coats, boots, and sweaters. In this video I'll pack my suitcase for a winter trip so you can see how everything fits in a carry on.

you can fill your boots with socks and other small items... And you can try packing cubes: that way you compress your clothes and you can bring more... :)

I put small stuff in a grocery sack and stuff the shoes with it. Socks undies bathing suit etc. I also stuff the pockets of the coat I am wearing in the plane and use those items for a pillow (scarves, slipper socks etc) they don’t count your coat as a personal item so get one w some deep pockets that close and u can take a lot smaller suitcase. I travel w a 30liter back pack that has extra room for souvenirs

I have travelled a lot but am not aware of the Kondo stand up method. might give this a try next time. My main interest is the total weight of the packed bag. International travel can be limited to 7 kgs and shoes can be a real problem.

7 kgs? I thought it was 30 pounds (around 15 kgs) because 7 lbs it's like nothing and even less if you need to bring your laptop

I sooh agree that shoes are the hardest to limit, especially for us girls, lol. The Kondo method works a treat - I call it "pack and pluck"!! - you can look into your case and remove and item without unpacking your entire bag. Happy & safe travels.

I refuse to spend money on “shoe bags” and find the produce bags you can get in the grocery store (or even the plastic grocery bags) are just fine. Also, I bag shoes individually so I can fit them wherever there’s a space.

No space for shopping. Take clothes with you that you are planning to donate. Wear them, wash them and donate them to a local charity. You can use the space you just emptied out in your carry on for new items or just come back lighter
