Winter Preparation Lessons from Hygge | The Cozy Danish Lifestyle: Lesson 48

What a week! Kamala Harris is the first woman Vice President-elect of the United States, the first Black Vice President of the United States, and the first South Asian Vice President-Elect of the United States. The wave of relief that came over my body when CNN called the race was immense. I have so much to say about this moment in history and our episode next will cover so much of it.
Representation matters. I have never felt so seen in so many ways. It is complex to navigate as well -- the histories of both Biden and Harris are marred with problematic decisions and actions. We absolutely cannot be blinded by the importance of representation and breaking barriers in this moment, the work continues. And with that truth I hope we also give ourselves space to feel joy, and to feel a modicum of relief.
Lean into the joy.
Today’s episode is one I recorded before the results were announced, and is focused on just that… how might we create more space for joy in our lives as winter knocks at the door. We explore the Danish concept of Hygge, and I share how I am hunkering down and preparing for the best winter I’ve ever experienced… I believe it’s possible, and these are the steps I’m taking to make it happen.
