Exactly his point!! If you use something in between you won't have to resort to banging it out.

Do you guys use soft shackles in snow recovery? Here in the United Arab Emirates (soft sand desert driving) we have begin using soft shackles due to the dangers of using metal shackles.

Very good video, I learned a lot. One thing I would like to add is those pick up trucks coming off the lake typically have a hitch receiver with a towing ball, and they love hooking up a tow strap directly to the towing ball. There are some really scary videos of towing balls flying through windshields and smashing tail gates. Thanks for the video!!!

No soft shackles? Soft shackles are fantastic for connecting 2 ropes together of for hooking up to vehicles that don’t have dedicated recovery points when on road rescuing stranded cars and street SUV’s.

how strong is that hitch pin used alone in the receiver? wouldnt it bend?
@kevinfodge27076 жыл бұрын
ImperialEwok nope, I do this often. Even a 1/2" ratchet extension will work

He’s saying the winch becomes derated as the winds are progressively removed. The effective “gear ratio” of the winch changes with less/more layers of winds.
