The Riverton section is a good section of the river to fish specially, in the winter time. I’ve caught a lot of good fish in the winter time in the Riverton section.

Does forward facing sonar work in a river?

It does, you’re just limited by the width and depth of the body of water… there’s areas I can float my boat through on the Shenandoah that have no room to hang a trolling motor or transducer. Then there’s other areas that are deeper and there will be no issue. It would also be a really handy tool for finding cover/structure in real time with stained water instead of side scanning and going back. There’s a handful of guys I’ve bumped into fishing the Riverton section from the dam to just above the confluence that run it.
