I was building similar spider foes/criminal syndicate 'trap house' with Mysterio, Green Goblin, Klaw, and (now) Winter Soldier.

I have had success with him and Red Skull Master of the World. The leadership gives his builder some bite and Red Skull enjoys the extra durability.

This feels a lot like Zemo. Both base Zemo and Base Bucky are so ruthlessly good at 3 that their new versions just can’t compete.

@@VincentCurkov true, having an interesting leadership certainly adds some value to Zemo. I use Zemo as my flanker with the long move but the quick step of the new one would likely help mitigate that.

He seems like a really good splash in magneto brotherhood list. Giving energy on opponents turns can increase the overall output of magneto's leadership

My take on these new hydra models is that all of a sudden, the Two more shall rise tactics card is somehow brought into the realm of feasibility. Start with strucker and act very boldly with him, if the opponent decimates him, lean into new Zemo and possibly skull 2 or 3, with bucky as a close escort it makes things very interesting. Heck there may even bee edge cases where The Council has some legs to stand on.

good catch on the tactics card requiring spetz training. i'd bet they'll do ww2 sidekick bucky like you said with the classic uniform and put it in a box with namor to round out the invaders with ww2 cap, jim hammond, and the commandos

I've played him a couple games under new Cap (not that that's his best home) and I agree that he's largely- fine, I guess? Having someone who can reliably hold home extracts and secures while Cap rushes headlong into lines was fun, but maybe not great in comparison to other options. I think Soldat is very cool, and might have some good play on new Bucky into both Skull 2 and Strucker Hydra, and maybe even Zemo 2, since you essentially get a better Bucky for free. For old Bucky, I think it makes Shadowlands Syndicate pretty scary. I don't play any of those affiliations, so that could be off base. He's a neat piece, and I'll keep trying him in places he probably doesn't fit, because I like the design space he sits in, even if the stuff on the card hasn't jumped out as great to me. So, I know its probably not worthwhile but any tips on how you would build a sentinel roster? The only constants I've found so far is taking Prime and directive one (aka the obvious stuff to take).

I don’t have a ton of suggestions but I do have two things. First, Cassandra nova is much better than she gets credit for. Second, I think they are a really good candidate for a dual affiliation roster. Find something to cover you bad matchups.

@VincentCurkov Thanks I'll have to mess around more with it. If I start to bet more on Cassandra I guess a core could be Prime, her, and Bucky. As for another affiliation, Prime does super well on Asguard, but sentinels are usually really bad against tall lists. So im not too sure if asguard is the right splash. Maybe Criminal Syndicate or Sam Spam?

Great video! I think there are a lot of characters in MCP that struggle because the other versions of them are better or more universally applicable to situations etc. I like this winter soldier's model a lot it is amazing. The character himself is good but like you said unless winter soldier 1 gets changed he probably won't see too much play. I am thinking about the various criminal syndicate leaders and which would like the tactics card he comes with. I think maybe kingpin but ideally you don't want multiple models on the same point. I think MODOK 2 would like it for even more protection. In that scenario bucky 2 may be a better fit for him to make a mini gourdian knot type thing. I will definitely give him bucky 2 a shot in foes, I enjoy trap house foes.

I have this theory that they are going to replace the "rogue agent" ability with a "rogue agent" affiliation, and they are just not revealing that yet. Its why they said he was a rogue agent in the stream than back peddled. This is a pipe dream, but it is a possibility lol I think he is .... ok lol, but yeah, as long as Bucky 1 exists he is a hard sell

I think that the rouge agent ability is a thing the design team considers a mistake and moving away from it. I suspect that at one point the cards like the initiative were going to take its place but then they bailed out of that too.
