Shimano Yep! I just use 6 pound mono on Calcutta 50 and 100b. cheap Rapala rods because there always in the truck. In the winter I find more biters with the Hot Sauce fish attractant I get at the Longfin. The boy grabs them by the motor. SO COOL. thanks.

Great advice on the fish. I'd suggest a Evergreen Combat Stick Casting Rod 7'3" Heavy Glass for all you bladed baits. I use it for jerkbaits/spinnerbaits in the surf and Kayak. You can just wind into the bite and the hookup ratio is great. Perfect glass rod.

Looks like a ton of fun Afran. I find that here also. Around in Long Beach, those breakwater calicos go and hide for winter, but those big ones bite... that is if you can find them. I catch a lot during the summer, barely legal, some legal, regardless, I turn em loose. Hope to one day go fish SD And mission bay again

Looks like fun, do you know of any good freshwater spots in the Imperial Beach area? Fenton and Hollister pond are dead, literally, there was some treatment they added to the water that killed everything but the shad. Also, do you think a warblade could have a trailer on it somehow? I just got one and I really like it, but I'm curious about its applications. Oh, and I use the ugly stik gx2 baitcaster combo, it's worked well so far. I really only use spinning reels for light fishing, so I use a kastking lancelot in 2000 size on a pretty light rod. Thanks.

This winter has been really tough. I’ve had a few days where I’ve been fortunate to get into some really nice bites. I recently got the shimano excense dc hg. The DC reels from shimano definitely seem to cast out at a great distance depending on what you’re throwing. Nice to see you try out some of their products. I hear the New penn fathom low profile reels are for sure worth trying.
