Way to go releasing that fish! It sure didn't look like a healed scar. Alot of people would have kept it. Great sportsmanship. Please be careful crossing rivers. Always seems the other side is better. Just be careful. Nice channel you have a new subscriber!👍🤙🎣

I’ve lost fish in that spot where you decided to jump in the river and chase that fish down to the next hole. I never thought a person could safely wade that, and once you commit to something like that, there’s no going back if need be. Stay safe and remember a slimy fish is never worth your life. Good video by the way. 👍👍

Misclipped hatchery fish

If you look closely at the fish’s dorsal fin it’s perfectly intact. Not a hatchery fish. Good choice
@stopblowinguprivers72312 жыл бұрын
To elaborate- hatchery fish will have a beat up dorsal from the hatchery ponds. That’s how tribal rivers tell their unclipped hatchery fish from wild fish is if the dorsal is beat up or not. Of course it isn’t always 100% accurate wild fish are sometimes beat up, but good identifying marker for a fish like that

Someone cut the fin off that fish. If it was a hatchery it would be healed over and not white. Good video.

That’s what we both thought as well, it looked like a fresh cut.

It is not a healed scar, so is illegal even if it was a hatchery clip that someone raked with a knife.

It was a native but on the next trip back from the salt it'll be a hatchery. Mis-clips are healed over fully. Plus it only matters what the warden thinks

Some jack ass cut it off after they caught it! That was a wild fish because the scar wasn't fully healed. U must be brand new to steelhead fishing?
