In this bushcraft survival challenge, I take my wife out into the winter woods to try to find food, build a shelter and start a fire using only primitive tools like friction fire. ASMR Playlist: • Caveman In The Woods |...
I will use just an axe to chop through the ice in order to place a set line for trout. I use my bow drill to start a friction fire by rubbing two sticks together. I cook the fish over the fire on just a stick while my wife is busy making a primitive shelter made out of sticks, spruce bows and snow.

Righteous1 variety is the spice of life mate. It would be boring if we all liked the same thing. I eat salmon more often than trout because it’s easier to come by in the shops but it’s strange because although the shops also sell Trout, I prefer to catch it and won’t eat shop bought trout. It’s easier to fish for trout near me, than it is salmon. Who knows, if I could fish for wild salmon, I may prefer that. I just think a wild trout Tastes better than a pellet fed salmon 👍🏻👍🏻

Righteous1 I’m in Liverpool, England so North Wales is about a 40 minute drive from me and I can fish for trout there quite easily and conveniently but getting wild salmon is another matter. I’d have to go way up north to Scotland and they’re much more difficult to catch nowadays.
