Happy new year Matt, another superb video - really enjoyed it cheers. Hope you are keeping well? By my rough reckoning you had 40mph wind speed at -3° so that would be a wind chill of around -28°C. Chilly! 🥶 Your dinner did look tasty though and I’m not a vegan… If you can maybe you should consider adding the “Buy my a coffee” option on your videos? I for one would happily buy you some beer for the enjoyment you have given me with your videos. Stay safe, Roo 👍🏻

Happy new year to you too Roo 👍👍 It was damn cold thats for sure but thoroughly enjoyed none the less. I really appreciate the comment and it is good to know that people actually do enjoy the videos i make, if not but only a few, makes no odds to me though as its all about enjoyment and getting out for abit of an adventure and ill continue to do so and why not share it with others too. I may look into the buy me a coffee idea, never even knew it existed but if i was bought a beer it would be much appreciated and i would most certainly enjoy it on my wild camp adventures out. Again thankyou for the comment mate, atb and stay safe also..👍👍

I just bought a Mountain 25 to replace my OLD just plain Mountain Tent on which the PU was deteriorating and seam tape was coming off. TNF said they couldn’t fix it and gave me credit. It’s a real beast! I haven’t used it yet, but I think I’ll like it better than the old one. Though I have a Marmot Hammer tent I really want to give a workout this winter. So many plans! Maybe I’ll find out if it’ll handle winds like yours. I’m in the mountains of northwest Maine, there’s one just outside town that’s 1109m and sees 40mph+ winds with wind chills in the -30F and lower range all the time. Great video, there’s nothing like taking whatever nature throws at you.

Hey, thanks for watching my video. Seam tape coming off is easy fix with seam seal.but pu coating is a much harder issue to deal with. The Nf mountain 25 definitely is a beast of a tent. My go to for any extreme weather conditions. Hope you have many great adventures with your new tent. Take care and all the best. 😁👍👍

@@residentoutdoors2303 I’d been told about TNF replacing floors on their tents before, so I figured I’d send the whole thing back and see if they’d retape the fly as well. I kinda wish I hadn’t unthinkingly sent the poles, too. The 20 stakes come in handy for other tents, and I even still have the foam spacers. No use for them with the Mountain 25, though.

Is there anything you can do about the snow skirts to stop them flapping about and making so much noise ? Before I get one . Cheers
@residentoutdoors2303 Жыл бұрын
I have seen videos with people who have used rocks to put on the snow skirt, i was contemplating attaching clips to the snow skirt so as i could peg them down to reduce the flapping, either clips or using metal ring clips to create pegging points, usually would be covered with snow.

I have been watching your adventures for about a year now. Wow. I have the North Face v25 tent. Just wondering what kind of pack are you using? I would like to see a video of you packing all your gear. Thanks
@residentoutdoors2303 Жыл бұрын
Hi, great to know you have been watching my videos, answer to your question for the pack i use is the deuter aircontact 65+10 , this is a solid piece of kit that i have used for many years now. I will look into posting a video of how i pack my gear, also due out for some more camping adventures as i have been so busy this year that i have been unable to get out. Thanks again for watching, all the very best. Matt. 👍👍🍻🍻

How do find it in the rain
@residentoutdoors2303 Жыл бұрын
Hi, the tent handles the rain very well, i have used this in heavy rain with strong wind and i had no problem with staying dry, no issues. 👍💯

You so should have more subscribers matt. Some people would call that a disaster weather wise, but you seem to love it.... great video. Have you gone vegan recently? am sure old videos you were cooking steak
@residentoutdoors23032 жыл бұрын
Cheers matey 👍🍻🍻 i don't think i put up enough videos to merit high numbers of subscribers, i just do this for fun now, i don't class myself as vegan, i call it plant based. Cut out the meat, no more frying up steaks and knocking back beers up on the peaks for me.. Well i think i am due another wildcamp shortly, nothing better mate..😁🍻🍻🍻🍻

@@residentoutdoors2303 Bro what kinda sleeping back did you use?
@@residentoutdoors2303 what is the temperature rating in Fahrenheit? Is it necessary to get a sleeping back for instance like a North Face Inferno -40 for this type of camping? Im a novice camper and i currently own a Military Bivy that comes with 3 layers and supposedly its good for -40 for 4 hours. Dont know if these claims are accurate. I hate that its bulky and like that you can layer up or down lol. You can never be satisfied right???😛😛😛😛😛
@residentoutdoors23032 жыл бұрын
@@KontrolledKaoz they say -4 Fahrenheit good nights sleep. It is large enough to add a lightweight bag for layering too. I see no problem with layering bags depending on what temps you may encounter. I have never been cold in this bag yet and the quality is good. Rab also make good bags. I also own military sleep systems and although bulky they work really well when all layer systrms are put together. It all depends whay weight your willing to carry , how far etc etc.
