Wonderful tutorial, but do you guys have any tips for us over in Europe on how to tell the 3 'large' gull species that used to be considered one and the same species couple of decades ago, namely Herring/Caspian/Yellow-legged gull - Larus argentatus/Larus cachinnans/Larus michahellis? I've searched the entire YT through and through but sadly there is not one video on the topic...

Very well done video--this was extremely useful to a beginner like me! Informative but not overwhelming.

so you mean the gull changes its type ? im trying to undersTAnd the 2-yeargull 3-year gull thing

Bit late to reply but the 2-year 3-year gull thing relates to how long the gull takes to fully mature its feather pattern, so a bonaparte gull takes 2 years and a herring gull takes 4 years. Gulls also have different plumage patterns in winter and summer so a 4 year gull may show 8 different plumages before it fully matures.
