I lived in Big Bear when I was a kid back in the 60s and early 70s. My mom worked at Snow Summit, and my dad had a Deli downtown. When we first moved up there we lived in a cabin at the Blue Bird Lodge and then Eagle Point, Moonridge, and Big Bear City. It has been cool watching you driving around, you passed by my house in Big Bear City, and the school I went to at the north end of town. I haven't been up there in 45 years. ;-)

Hey Nikk, actually California considers all tires with the M+S mark as snow tires which includes all all season tires. So if you have AWD or 4WD with all seasons you’re fine in R2 requirements. Not the safest thing in the world but legally you can drive in R2 with all seasons

See that’s really good information because when I had my all-terrain tires on my all-wheel-drive vehicle, they gave me crap about it telling me that I needed to have snow tires so that’s the reason I had that certain opinion was because that’s what the CHP officer told me but I knew I had some other friends who have driven up here with all season tires and they were just fine, so thank you for giving me that information because I really don’t want to ever give wrong information. I hope you understand. I only told people that because that’s what I went through. Dude, you better not ever leave this channel. @@deborahhall3488 we could get another 15 inches if it all works out by the end of Monday night but then Tuesday we’re not gonna have any weather there’s gonna be no more snow or rain for probably a couple weeks at least but Tuesday the temperatures aren’t even going to get out of the 20s, so hardly any if any of the snow from the storm will melt at all Wednesday the temperature is gonna be a little bit above freezing. I just suggest just for the safety that they have their tire chains with them just to be extra safe and have them call 800 Caltrans before coming up just to check the road conditions. Where my family lives in Utah. In vernal Utah, there’s 3 feet of snow on the ground. I can’t imagine how much is in the uintah mountains. I’m talking 10 feet in the basins, and 15-20 in the passes. It’s so heavy my poor grandparents can’t reach high enough without risking injury. As crazy as it sounds, the snow kills more than fires and dry weather. Where I live I live in a very religious conservative part of California. People are so nice here. Anyways, take care.

My friend I used to live in Wayne county Utah in a town called Loa, Utah. Right next to Bicknell and Torrey and Capitol reef national Park I loved that area. I was sent to a drug rehab for a whole year in that area when I was 16 years old. And we went to Vernal on one of our Saturday excursions you’re really bringing me back and believe it or not that was one of the best times of my life obviously the first couple weeks I was terrified because I’ve never been away from my mom for that long, but after I settled in, and especially in hindsight, it was truly amazing I love Utah

It’s funny that you mention that I think I have been watching a little bit of it because all of these videos about Mammoth are popping up and it just blows me away. I remember going up there during the 1996 1997 El Niño and I had never seen so much snow in my entire life. It was incredible and I hear it’s pretty similar this season. So you want the best of you in big bear I know this is gonna sound crazy but on the ski lift those are the most incredible views you can get and when it drops you off at the very top at snow summit ski resort the views are incredible, also you’ll get a few peekaboo views in upper Moonridge but for the most part being down by the lake on a trail called the pedal path is a good place and there’s one more little hiking trail and I can’t remember the name but it has beautiful views at the top. It’s about a 1 mile round-trip hike maybe a little bit more But any place you can get down by the lake would be phenomenal there’s a hotel called the Lagunita lodge. It’s right on the lake and if you can get a Lakefront room it’s fantastic my friend absolutely fantastic. If I can think of anything else, I will definitely let you know because I want you to have the best experience possible and thank you for being part of my life Rodrigo I’m very honored to have you here on this channel and I hope you stay here for a long time my friend

Tiana first of all I think you’ll like Lake arrowhead better because I certainly do Lake arrowhead is the reason I moved up to this mountain range but because I had to find work I had to live in big Bear because Lake arrowhead is off-season most of the year lol it’s a very peaceful place. I think you’re going to enjoy it. Regarding snowfall it’s going to be hit and miss and flip a coin right now because I know you guys got a little bit of snow in Lake arrowhead on the last storm but I don’t think you guys I don’t mean to say you guys like you’re actually there but I don’t think like arrowhead got anything from this storm so I don’t think there’s going to be much snow but I hope I’m wrong I wish I had better information for you Tiana

My good friend online tough guy that’s not a dumb question at all since I’ve lived here, I’ve seen it or heard that it snowed all the way down in Highland right before you went to the San Bernardino National Forest off Highway 330 and some of our friends in Yucaipa actually see the snow, sometimes all the way down the mountain Now on the other side of the mountain range, it has snowed down in Victorville and Apple Valley so it’s been a winter wonderland down there a few times since I’ve lived here but that’s a great question And I just wanna say thank you for being in my life online. So I’ll be honest with you I have never seen another KZbin channel ever and I mean ever since I’ve been watching KZbin videos for 15 years that did not ask people to subscribe or hit the like button or ring the notification bell that’s why I thought that was one thing that made my channel so special was that I didn’t ask you guys to do that. So I do feel kind of at odds with my decision to do that because the channel was so freaking authentic because of that reason, but I’m not gonna change the more subscribers I get I promise I will be the same guy. The only thing that might change is I might not be able to respond to all the comments at some point, and that is driving me crazy emotionally that makes me really sad to even think about that and the reason I can’t in the future is because there will be way too many to even respond to in one day I won’t be able to do it so I’m gonna have a talk with all of you guys on the channel and ask you guys to help me out with answering peoples questions if you see something and you have a good answer, that would be great

I do I actually go up there probably every fourth or fifth video but recently because I’ve had Covid I’ve been staying closer to home and pretty much hitting most of the tourist areas but I’ll tell you what I’ll go up there for sure on the next video I’ll probably be going all the way to the end of Baldwin lake on the next video also and then you’ll be able to see what the snow is like at the top of Highway 18 from Lucerne I just don’t want them to be jerks if there’s enough snow on the backside they might enforce chains And even though you have really good tires which would be fine they give you crap even if you have the nicest four-wheel-drive vehicle but if you don’t have snow specific tires, then they can make you put on chains and so just be careful I don’t want you to have to turn around or anything like that because I’ve had to do that before and I wanted to run over the guy lol I just hope you get up here safe and sound my friend. My friend imperial I have never used either of them the whole eight years I’ve lived here. I have my all wheel drive vehicle with snow tires during this time of year and I tear it up from the floor up. But I always suggest to everybody to please have tire chains with you because I think or actually I know you guys will be safer. I know it’s a pain in the butt but also crashing your car is more of a pain in the butt. I just want you to be safe out there And thank you for your question my friend. I’ve been able to drive into Holcomb Valley but I don’t want to tell you yes and then you waste your time because I’m not 100% certain that’s a great question I wish I had a good answer for you my friend. I’m embarrassed that I don’t have a good answer for you, but as I said in years past, I’ve driven into Holcomb when there’s a good amount of snow, and it didn’t seem like most of those roads were closed. I wish I knew of a source where we could both check it out to see I hope you’re not upset with me for not having a good answer for you grip No matter what you do to stay safe thank you for the question. That’s a great question apalsagheer. A few years back on Thanksgiving day while I was doing a live feed I believe someone was parked in the middle of the street on a hill, putting on tire chains and it’s so frustrating when that happens but I started losing control and I would’ve been fine if they weren’t there, but I turned into a snowbank on purpose so I would miss them in my car got stuck and one of my KZbin friends actually was driving by and saw me and said oh my gosh I can’t believe it’s you and he was a huge dude. He pushed my car out of the snowbank. I couldn’t believe it.

It was Thanksgiving day as I said, I was doing one of the few live feeds that I ever do and I was coming down the hill and some person stopped in the middle to put on the tire chain in the middle of the hill in the middle of the road not just in the way that they are driving up but they stopped in the middle of the road and thought it was OK to put on tire chance, and I knew there’s a chance I could lose control, but if they weren’t there, I would’ve made it down just fine no problem but I had to turn into a snowbank, and it was crazy

You’re so funny Albert I didn’t want to go through the village at that time because of all the traffic so a lot of times I avoid Jack-in-the-Box and honestly a couple of the last times I’ve eaten there. I’ve gotten sick the 24 hour food poisoning so I’ve been kind of avoiding that place like the plague which really sucks and then, as soon as one of my wife’s chickens died it really made me sad and I quit eating chicken six months ago and one of my favorite things at Jack-in-the-Box is the spicy chicken sandwich with cheese?
