After a decade as a paratrooper; whose inspiration was a corporal telling a tank commander "if you are looking for a safe place, get behind me, i AM the 82nd AIRBORNE and this is as far as the bastards are going". Yeah, this song resonates.

I shot this video to a friend of mine who is a Methodist pastor. I told him it is currently helping me through a bad time. He later messaged me back describing this song as "Powerful." This means a lot to me coming from a holy man.

It was friends from Church who got me into The Cruxshadows in the first place. Might seem strange to some ppl. But it was part of the reason I felt so welcome at that church. We were an eclectic group, and it was amazing. ❤

And in the fury of this darkest hour, we will be your light. You've asked me for my sacrifice and I am winterborn. Without denying, a faith is come that I have never known. I hear the angels call my name and I am winterborn.

This song... Has so much nostalgia for me. Recently, I am about to turn 18. My memories of my years have been popping at random. Random things that are non-important to most. Just now, the single word. "winterborn".

Nah, Ghost. I don't remember it being mentioned in the Looking Glass series, though I do remember Dragonforce was mentioned. John Ringo has damn good taste in music.

@martialarborist7918 I don’t know if he had it in his song list, but he definitely referenced it in his Live Free or Die series. Would have to check, but wouldn’t be surprised to find it in his song lists for Graveyard Sky or There Will Be Dragons also. I’ll have to check my collection. Agree on his taste in music.

Though I doubt it's about them, this song makes me think of St. Paul and the first century church. Honestly, a lot of this song makes me think of St. Paul's writings to the various churches that were going through strife and turmoil. It's encouraging for me right now.
