@kalkovonschpritzendorf1914 Жыл бұрын
@@Yvory6 oh man... it's a long story, that has been documented in over a hundred videos... but the short version is: The Marble Mashine X didn't end up meeting Martin's "standards", and he decided to ditch the whole project. It looked great, it sounded great, but it wasn't reliable enough to be taken on a stage, so Martin decided to end the project, and MAYBE build a 3rd mashine - but only once he solves all the issues that happened to this one. Also his dad got sick, he had to move out from the French home he bought... basically the MMX story didn't get a happy ending at all. It was a failure - one that taught us a lot of things, but a failure in the end - at least according to Martin. I still wish he'd just make a few songs for video on the MMX though. Like it was nearly finished, it did work good enough to be fine with some video editing. I think he was so disappointed in himself (and probably the father-health thing god too big) that he just gave up on it.

Obviously, not all of the music one hears in this video is being produced from that machine as there is nothing being struck by the falling balls to produce some of it. There are no "vibraphone" metal planks (that were there in the previous beta incarnation of this spectacular machine) being stuck to produce the some of the sounds that are part of this musical piece. In fact, the music starts before Martin begins to....."wind up the machine." Still, that machine is a one of a kind master work of mechanical engineering and I'm looking forward to seeing what can be produced with it once it's finally, and fully completed. This new machine certainly has the percussion aspects down pat that were only in an infancy stage with his first design. This is....AMAZING!
