Im in love with how well your system is designed and set up! You did better than most professionals in my area!

My first in ground sprinkler system. I waited too long to call an authorized rep to initiate the system. Six week backlog for seasonal startup. Well meaning friends & neighbors have at least got the system functioning. Previous owner definitely did not winterize the system. External copper feed pipe split in two places under deck. When the rep shows up (early June) I’ll have a full diagnostic and schedule the winterization. Your video was extremely helpful but it seems my backflow valves are inside the basement rather than buried outside.

Thanks, great tutorial! What PSI are you blowing out with? My whole system are little drip irrigators (No lawns here in AZ).

I run mine at about 130 psi but for your drip system you don’t need much pressure to get the water out. If you use too much pressure you are likely to damage your drippers or water lines. Good luck!

Quick question when blowing out the sprinklers do the solenoids have be energized? And also my system has a drain valve should I keep it open or closed thanks and great informative video👍

Hi. I open each solenoid before blowing that sprinkler circuit out. As for your drain, if it drains all the water out you may not need to blow them out but just to be safe, close the drain and blow them out. Good luck!

How much you charge for that

This guy makes a good attempt to winterize, but you dont need to dissemble the backflow. Open all 4 test cocks and 2 shut offs to a 45 degree, it will be good. Be sure to close all sprinkler zone valves after blowing out

I pull out the backflow valves and rings just to keep them in the warm for the winter. I put a little oring lubricant on the so they don’t dry out. I agree this is not necessary from a water freezing point of view but pulling them out I believe helps the rubber parts last longer.

How did you make the shrader cap?
@aroundthehouse202225 күн бұрын
I drilled a hole in the pvc cap and pulled the valve through. I the valve base is like a grommet with a groove. Good luck

Hi. It’s my own property. I do it so I do t have to pay others to do it for me.
