Thanks Bonnie! I've been waiting for the release of this deck. I was hoping it would be on a par with Siolo's other decks. I love the Linestrider tarot and especially the hedgewitch botanical deck. I had seen a few cards so knew the artwork was beautiful in that dreamy watercolour style but it has helped seeing all the cards. The keywords make sense to me in relation to the animal depicted. I'm eager to read the guidebook too. So happy to have seen this prior to purchasing the deck so I can make an informed choice. 😁

My pleasure, Ruth! I think the stories in the guidebook make this a workable deck for me…and the art work ain’t bad either 😉!

Thanks for this great video. I loved seeing the guidebook and the pairings. I have Spiritsong so it is very convincing to see them together. I wouldn't mind seeing you use them with one of the paired decks in a sample reading.

The Otherkin is definitely one of the most underrated decks. I don't understand why, because it is head and shoulders above the Linestrider. Much more cohesive. I feel like she hadn't really found her "style" with the Linestrider (her first deck) it's a bit all over the place, but the Otherkin has a really cohesive look that all the creatures come from the same world. I combined the two decks (my favourite of each card) into a frankendeck.

I think you hit the nail on the head! While I’m happy I got the Linestrider. I use my Otherkin so much more! Oooo…I love the idea of combining the decks!
@Karma.Sutera2 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree. I own both decks but find myself reaching out to the Otherkin tarot more. How do you combine your decks?
@lexwithbub2 жыл бұрын
@@Karma.Sutera hi, I just went through the two decks side by side, card by card, and picked my favourite of each card. Some cards were really easy to choose my favourite. Others I either loved both, or was meh about both. In those cases I checked the guidebooks and looked at how well the imagery represented the card (I prefer the Linestrider guidebook, because she includes some explanation behind the actual imagery, which really helps with intuition. In the Otherkin guidebook it is just the meanings) I revisit it all from time to time, and have made swaps from time to time. I then made my own mini guidebook with keywords and my own interpretations based on the artwork so I don't have to carry both guidebooks!

Lovely walkthrough Bonnie, thank you 😊 I have the otherkin and thoroughly enjoy the art in that deck. Siolo Thompson has a beautiful style that's for sure.

I find her artwork to be very calming. I worked with the Otherkin Tarot for quite awhile before deciding to purchase the Linestrider because I was afraid they would be to similar. I’m glad I decided to purchase it!

I love animal decks but I don't often connect very well with them (I think this happens partly because I don't know a lot about animals, and partly because many of the depicted animals are often uncommon around my area)...I have to admit the keywords in this deck make a lot of sense to me. Also, the artwork is stunning! And I think I like the guidebook from what you showed us! I may add it to my list and possibly rehome one of my other animal decks! :) I think this may pair well with the Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle too! Thank you for sharing! xx
@oldsoulmermaid15433 жыл бұрын
I’m with you…animal decks can be very hit and miss with me. Not because I don’t love the art, it’s just that I have a harder time reading with them. That said, the few I do have I absolutely love and I link this one will go into that category, mostly because I love having a story or myth connected to the animals in this deck. I’m the same way with plant decks, but I’ve decided I’m defiantly going to be adding the Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle to my collection!
@shadowmoontarot37813 жыл бұрын
@@oldsoulmermaid1543 We are on the same page... I'm the same with plant decks and I have to admit the Hedgewitch Botanical has not been a great hit for me...The guidebook has a lot of information about the plants but not the type of info to help me connect with the energy of the plant. That said, I really love the artwork and the keywords (although I don't know if they are a good match for each plant as I am not very familiar with all the plants). So I tend to work with it more on a "keyword" level rather than on a plant energy one. If you are like me you may want to do some research before you decide on it. Hope that helps! :) xx

What a beautiful deck. I don't have any of these decks yet, but my collection is still tiny. The seal reading was wonderful. It reminds me that I wondered if you have seen the movie Ondine. It's perfect for an old-soul mermaid, and I can't remember if I mentioned it to you before. It's on some of the paid services that I don't have. I think I may have watched it on Pluto with the commercials. I plan to get air in my tires and hit my HPB later today. 😁 Happy weekend!
@oldsoulmermaid15433 жыл бұрын
I haven’t seen Ondine, but I just read the plot and I’m going to…thank you for the heads up! I just came back from a HPB visit and somebody sold about 100 decks of their collection to this particular location! They were older decks, many of them OOP, but many of them didn’t come with boxes or books. Many were priced in the $100 range…yikes! None of them were calling my name…thank goodness!

@@oldsoulmermaid1543 Oh my gosh!!!! Still, it must have been fun to check out so many! I picked up an oracle deck I passed on the last time because I already had selected 4 other decks. The Druid Animal Oracle for $13.49, a pretty standard price. I will dive into the book tomorrow. 🥰

It's a beautiful deck! I have been waiting to see a walk through so thank you Bonnie 💕 I love the Linestrider Tarot but haven't got the Otherkin or Hedge witch decks. I fell in love with the seal too (and the dog who reminds me of a old campanion of mine) and am seriously thinking of adding this deck to my collection for the folklore aspect alone. I live in the UK and some of the animals are not native to here, such as the hummingbird, raccoon and turtle and I don't know how I feel about the inclusion of farm animals like pig, cow and rooster? I think I'll mull it over a little longer before deciding whether to purchase 🌠
@oldsoulmermaid15433 жыл бұрын
I think the reason why I love this deck is because many of the animals in this deck I see often in my neck of the woods here in Texas. Unfortunately, I see too many raccoons 🦝 dead on the side of the road 😢. The artwork is stunning, but I’m really enjoying reading the book and reading mythology I was previously unfamiliar with!

I have not added any of Siolos decks to my collection yet....none of them REALLY appealed to me but this one just might make it into the collection. Lol. Especially due to the Cletic and Norse theme. I've had my eye on it for a while.

I know! I’m very picky with animal decks and only have a few in my collection, but learning the myths behind the animals in the deck makes all the difference!

The keywords are: death, complexity, change, epiphany, secret knowledge, mystery, and speech. The book goes into its connection to the Morrison and Odin and it’s significance in Welsh Tales. Let me know if you need more 😉
