I think I’m sold on this - I agree the key words are so well chosen for the animals. I love the full color images in the book and the final clincher is the folklore and history. I love a guide book that just a good read on it’s own. Thank you for sharing it!

This deck is beautiful and I love that the cards have the perfect size. It's a pain to shuffle larger sized decks. Lately I'm loving more animal theme oracles and I'll definitely add this to my list. I also share the same feeling you said about hummingbird...it also reminds me of my grandma, who died when I was 5. And around 3 years ago, I was at my balcony with my parents then all of a sudden a hummingbird came and was next to my mom's right ear. My mom remembered reading about the meaning of what it means when you see a hummingbird it meant that a loved one came to visit. It happened the day before the 20th anniversary of my grandma's death.

I love the key word for hummingbird to be determination. They burn through sooo many calories from hovering and just existing. It takes a lot to keep their little bodies going. Truly amazing little birds. Great video! Love this deck!

I just picked this deck up last night at our local shop. I love that they have the blackbird label when the picture is really a starling :) The other really neat fact is that starlings are the cousins to magpies and are native to Great Britain. They share a lot of the same characteristics with their ability to recognize themselves in mirrors and their mimicking. I raised three of them from before their eyes were open and their vocabulary of human language and sounds was like nothing I have come across since. So the magpie's information is spot on. Love this deck!!!

Just acquired this deck last week and it really resonated with me as a person from the northern hemisphere and appreciated all of the familiar animals and birds, these cards can be further interpreted and our own "meanings or other words" added, and I liked that. The book is very well written. Someone in the comments asked why the name " Winterseer" - the introduction explains the relationship of the deck to the boreal animal spirits - northern regions where the seasons change, and flow. Specifically boreal can mean below the artic region and including tiaga (coniferous forest of high northern latitudes) in any case, love my new deck!!!

Love Magpie,had a male tame magpie,he reached old age,was rescued by me ,fallen out of nest,💞🤍💌✨💜 my beloved pet Bird, he spoke words, had his preference for his favorite people, and was very smart.

I really love the look of this deck. I love the simplicity of the artwork . The amount of cards is so good too. I find the history of the folklore just so interesting. I can just hear myself saying to people.. did you know .... So yes.. I'm going to get this deck because apart from the fact it's lovely, I think it could make me sound quite clever 😂💕💕💕

I was going to comment how I love Siolo’s work but wish they didn’t publish such small decks (re: the hedgewitch botanical) but as soon as I saw the first card, I thought how beautiful of a deck the two combined would create!!!! I’m not attracted to animal decks but Siolo might get me on this one…. 😍😍😍

@@WickedMoonlight1 Right?! It would make a 97 card oracle deck but 😅 go big or go home right? I feel like the botanical oracle has a lot of “gaps” and i think this deck would really fill those in. There a couple of repeated words between the two decks but the herb and animal associations probably read differently and I’m okay with that 🤷🏼‍♀️

Looks like the same format as The Medican Card Oracle Deck, they used Old World Folk Lore for the description instead of Native American Folk Lore. In a way it's a little sloppy in the book format where they wanted the book out quickly and not put time to put a simple index in the book. Understand this is only my opinion but the art work is excellent it just seems some minor things got passed the editor but that's what I think. The real question is would I get it, I would say yes the Folk tales is what fascinating to me. I will be getting thus one in the near future.

Thank you 🙏 for the walk through. This is not for me. The art work is beautiful, the presentation looks nice but it’s not resonating with me. Why winterseer? Also seems again to me a bit lazy in the keywords, yes donkeys can be stubborn but they are also faithful and hard working, great companions to other animals and humans. Stoat there’s so much depth to explore the ability to squeeze through a very small space, the change in winter coat, the link with ermine. Salamander-fire? that’s the element, rat -fear 🤷‍♀️ I know I haven’t seen the book to read the rest of the descriptions but I won’t be adding this to my collection, I have better put together animal oracles and medicine cards.
