She must bore them to death by using Corruptor pirouettes. They literally flew circles for 20 minutes this game until they took the absolutely worst fight they could. 😏

@@jonsolo32 Lol, that was by far the best fight scarlett was gonna get all game. Splitting some of the army off, pushing them into a corner, the archons being occupied with broodlings for half the fight. If that fight would've gone more astreas way, the corruptors would've been dead in about 2 sec by archon splash.

It's refreshing to see a protoss player who actually plays the lategame decently. I'm sure a serral would've still dismantled astrea there, but the concept of how to play protoss in lategame is shown spectactuarly by astrea here. And also why zerg technically will never win a lategame vs protoss, bc of 15-range tempests - but that also means toss can make no mistakes.

40:00 if she could have micro'd the corruptors into a 180 degree semicircle around that protoss air army, the storms wouldnt help much. This is the difference between SC1 and SC2. In SC1 you'd see that kind of micro and tactical advantage. In SC2, even with top level players, they just dont quite think in non-blob ways.

Was wondering if concaving was a thing, I'm unfamiliar to the game but about 10-12 years back when I was watching SC2 more the micro and spread of units seemed more entertaining

@@hadongan Its a thing. Generally attacking into a concave will lose you the fight, as you'd expect.

That's just not true. If the corruptors spread out more, astrea would've cast more storms and the corruptors would've been less good at focusing targets. That's why you usually move them in a blob, to have them all ready to shoot at the same time. In a direct fight, the corruptors will not win vs 3-4 storms and 2 archons. No way.

you know how people split marines, and then zerg players split banes to compensate. Scarlet never split the corruptors. There were so many of them, that's all she needed to do, was realy, properly spread them out. cos there was so much splash damage. but her numbers were so high... just spread them out x.x

There is exactly 1 building zerg can build off of creep. Its a hatchery, and winter literally has it selected at that timestamp.

When you cancel a hatchery, it leaves behind a tiny amount of creep as kinda a bug/unintended consequence. You can tumor off of that before it goes away, if you're fast

with protoss being the weakest competitive race atm, an almost 200 supply tier 3 army comp late game skytoss was always known to be more powerful than the other race counterparts. It just that it rarely ever happens, and most pros are not used to that scenario at the highest level (not counting gm ladder games). Scarlett has a good ZvP record, just not too many times against an army like that. Its incredibly difficult for zerg to take that fight head on especially when drone count so low and nowehere left to mine to take trades

Why can't Scralett split her curroptors into like 4 control groups and attack from a wide array of angles? You can storm one single pocket of 60 corruptors...but if you do groups of 15 and come from different dirrections, hard to storm all of them and the broodlords, and the zerglings, etc etc

I have to say I love your commentary and these players but that really was a snooze fest for the last 20-30 minutes. So frustrating seeing the micro difference between Scarlett and the top Korean and Euro Zerg players - that mass corrupter with no splits and head on rushes in clumps, and no queens to transfuse, was brutal to watch. Especially after watching your Dark vs Classic cast right before this. I kept hoping for a Scarlett miracle (probably would have taken an Astrea mega blunder) as it stretched on and Scarlett kept losing the war of attrition, but no, it ended exactly as the last half’s play would lead you to expect. Ahh well, Winter you made this game as interesting as you possibly could at least!

SCarlett Should of won that fight... literally 5 seconds earlier protoss made a mistake, move path was over a grey space corner so hte archons got ahead of the flying units, archons range is 3 I htink, so allows the coruptors to then hit in teh grey air space... The corruptors hsould be put into groups of what you plan on attacking is ot one shot +1. tempests is 22? I think... so... should could of popped 3 tempests at a time.... but her engagemetn is hit and miss, and needs ot save atleast 5 brood lords in her base, the air needs ot manuevar ina way wher ethe corruptors wont be hit by archons ever... thus atleast 3 groups for the corruptors.. brood lords don't need their own group, there size make a double click good.. but coudl help to hit archons from a back placement of a grey zone... so.... grey (zone is a position in which only flight is available) Scarlett made some errors... During her building charge owuld of been the best leap forward attack.. having three groups and boxing could of helped a bit, the lsser range is annyoing.. I think burrow and drones.. and the resources were grea,t but picking off your opponenets base pieces shoudl be a priorty and she constantly gave initiaitive ot protoss... her fleet is faster... so piss on a few pylons in a second its down and hte ntake out al lthe buidligns and fly away... of course we see everything, so its al ittle unfair... She did lose lots of creep.. pretty good game, bit of fumbles like some derpign with some good ideas, just execution was not on par... interesting game... SOme peopel might hate me, but I woudl prefer hydras and vipers.. at the 8k mark... she should take the initive and circum navigate the army and go straight for protoss production and hten have a heavy engagnement for atotal instant rebuild.. and possible second strike, this allows you to limit hte product and warp in and get a recall back.. and some good trades... during the warp in.... and can retreat.. at a total loss position as you ahve speed... and then re group.... forcing the enemy ot rebuild those areas.. which sometimes the recall back... and yourforward movement.. can allow hte re spawned new army ot take otu hte front base also as they might be slow ot respond to the front line as they rebuild production, allowing you to take more of hte base, but his si onyl ina equal scanrion of cap. So since there is no money cap... its a bit different. and allows zerg, to bascialyl sledge hammer into the enemy position... priorty should be clenaing out the mid area allowing for surrounds easier/ or flanks.. neuro parasite is great... would 10 infestors atleast been good? possibly... its great ot have them shred units.. yo una do a udnerground mass Q up behind your army, so when you come in... and attack slightly mid to bakc lien targets the infestors sawmr and grab control of the front line targets, this hten in turn allows you to use their front line units as fodder.... and its also a good time to bring in teh buildings behidn such a attack and maybe evne force a recall. stranding all the neuro parasited units... in your cluthces to then self mutilate to death with zerg carnage. lol
