The theme of this song is so brilliant. TIme is the death and the healing. With it everything heals, but at the same time, we are getting closer to our death. Everytime we need healing we also need to get closer to our own death. Death is deceiving. We may think that trying to avoid getting hurt is the solution, but it will lead us to not living our days, making them fly, leaving us hollow.

@Kurt Rustle The line before that one wasn't correct though, as past tense of "fly" is "flew". Jari probably already knew that, as he is a very fluent English speaker, especially for someone who speaks it as a second language, he probably just needed something that rhymed with "died".

I listened to this song in 2012 for the first time and that year was one of the worst years of my life. I had to get a surgery that had very little chance of full recovery and I used to listen to this song all day long because it inspired me and helped me get back to life just like that broken bird. I had no regrets because I knew one day I will be that wolf. Death is nothing but a transition of our spirit. After all these years, I still live in this song the same way. Thank you Jari and thanks Wintersun for death and the healing. Love from a Bangladeshi living in Toronto.
