Yup... Wintersun 🤘🏼. Jari Mäenpää (guitar, leadsinger) is mastermind behind the band and Wintersun started as his soloproject while he was still playing in Ensiferum (great finnish metal band also 😉). Other wizards are Teemu Mäntysaari (guitar, backing vocals), Jukka Koskinen (bass, backing vocals and now playing in Nightwish also) and human metronome Kai Hahto (drums, also in Nightwish). There are still two songs from same rehearsals Time and Land of Snow and Sorrow, if you want to check them out. Please and peace 🙏🏼😎✌🏼

Jari always composes with lots of 12/8 time signatures and then switches between 4/4, 3/4 and 6/8 throughout the song

Hello Glass Moon Gaming ! Yes, there is more of Wintersun´s epic sounds. Take time and listen to their song "Time", different from this one, but epic anyway Watching you to come with Wintersun or Nightwsh, and btw also the bass Jukka Koskinen is a member of Nightwish today. Thank you for reacting this Wintersun´s piece I hope we´ll soon see your reacts to Wintersun or Nightwish. Your comment I liked, and so became a new sub. Greets from Finland. Take care.

I reacted to the entire Human Nature album on here. It was my first series of reactions. Check the channel if you haven't seen it. I'm a HUGE fan of Nightwish and have heard all the big songs TONS of times. While I'd LOVE to react to them, it'd end up being more of a review/commentary (which I may still do just cuz the songs are so epic) since I obviously know them. Thanks!

Wintersun has made three albums (in 2004, 2012 and 2017) and these live rehearsal videos (3 tracks) are all from the second album Time 1. Jari Mäenpää has announced that he is now making four new albums at the same time. But there is no information on when and in what order the albums will be released Every album is different. Sure, belonging to the same metal genre. But the sound is different. One of the upcoming albums is Time 2, so it continues on the line of Time 1 album. One of the albums returns to the music style of the first album. One will be a surprise, according to Jari. And one Jari described with the word "space metal." I do not know what it means... Kai Hahto is a drummer on the first two albums but not on the third. Since 2015, he’s been really busy with Nightwish. We often call Kai Hahto a "human metronome" or a robot, or a machine. Because his style is pretty expressionless and technically really perfect, the timings are right, etc. So, funny thing, on his third album Jari replaced Kai with a machine !!! So the third album may not be as interesting to the drummer’s ears because there is no human drummer there. Yes, the album is very interesting by the way, a concept album and I would recommend listening to it from start to finish, in the right order. "The Forest Seasons" and it progresses in the order of spring - summer - autumn - winter. Each song has a feeling related to the Finnish time of year and how they are progressing. But also in relation to Jarin's own life.

There's a Kai Hahto drumcam version of this, linked before in the comments, and I definitely recommend that. You see what happens when you take a jazz drummer and place him a metal band: I believe Wintersun is the man's therapy band, exercising all the sick drum lines he's denied of in Nightwish (I'm not making any claims on the difficulty of each).

Referring to your comment at 11.16 minute mark... Yeah, there's a lots of 4/4 (drums) against 6/8 (rest of the band) in this song.

Nice! It always amazes me when that's done so easily and how it all fits back together over the span of many measures. Crazy!
