Sad to say, but one TC manufacturer WANTED to build a plant here in New Orleans after Katrina and establish routes, but RTA wouldn't even consider it. Guess we are lucky to have our 3 streetcar lines and one more being built.

The overhead wiring for intersections for trolley buses looks both complicated and expensive to build and maintain. A far better solution appears in the following video kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4HIm5qars6LkJY I'm certainly no expert, but I would think eliminating the grapevine you find at intersections would have to save the transit authority enough money to make the change-over worth while.
